If an opt out of randomized events, like mystery dances, kissing and random ToT-ing, could be added as an on/off toggle in preferences, it would be a useful option for the folks who are uncomfortable with any forced interaction with random strangers. Those who want to use it could, and it would certainly be no inconvenience to the rest of us. Fully support this if it's doable.

People opting out would be actively benefitting those who choose to remain in the pool, by giving them a greater chance to be selected. Sounds like a win-win situation :) (...except maybe for the site coders).

I consider the mystery dancers a really nice gift and love that the game offers this. if somebody doesn't want it that's fine with me as long as it's not hard to program. I would hate for it to be removed because some dont like it, I'm sure there's a few things in the game most people would elect to avoid.

Am I mistaken or can't you opt out of all Masquerade dancing by not wearing a mask on your HA? That includes mystery dances, too, doesn't it?

Besides that, it just doesn't feel right having something you have no choice in. Well, if not wearing a mask works, than there is a choice, but then that means not being able to participate at all, so imo it's not a very good choice.

Ideally I want to only opt-out of receiving mystery dances while still being able to initiate them myself, but if opting out means not being able to do it at all I won't miss it. As long as I can still do normal dances. And I don't mind if it also means opting out for similar things in other events, as long as I can still participate in some way.

I still want to be able to dance, though. Maybe not this year since I got everything I wanted already, but in future years. I don't want to opt out of the event completely.

you can briefly put on a mask, dance, then take it off again. Don't need to entirely opt out that way. Hope that helps!

I don't think the OP was asking to have mystery dances removed completely, they personally just wanted to opt out of receiving them, if it's possible. Which I think is a reasonable request. If someone wants to opt out of certain events on this site, no matter the reason, I think they should have the ability to - again, if that's possible.

Depending on how the random pool is determined, I'd also support an "opt-in" for random event features in the future, so I know my dances/ToT/etc are going to active users who want to take part in the random matches.

Well that's true. Even so, it'd still be nice to not have to do that. But at least it's an option, so thanks for the suggestion since obviously I didn't think about that.
