While I'm grateful that we got two recent updates to Fresh and Flavorful in the past weeks, it seems like 3 daily items isn't enough considering how much stock he carries, now.
Having him restock more daily items would actually help; some items such as Yuzu and Umeboshi still haven't rotated in! 5 seems like a nice number, now
This seems like a better number of items to have as more things are added there. And it might encourage people to look there more often as well if they have more to choose from.
No Support. Subeta is a game composed out of many smaller games and this smaller game is a game of patience.
It's not even clear to me that there's a problem. Most of the items he carries, even the very newest stuff, is easily purchaseable from usershops at a reasonable price even if you miss finding the item you want there. It's not like he is as rare and elusive as the BHH, if you show up at all on the day you can get the thing. If you are dying to buy the thing for yourself, add it to your once a day visits like the bathhouse or subscribe to the forum group that alerts you.
Waiting months for items to get in the system isn't fun, especially when these items can be asked for Item Hunt.
Unlike restockables, where they can be given from quests, the coin machine, treasure maps, and other opportunities, Fresh and Flavorful items are restricted to Ujin only, and Ujin is the only shopkeeper where there is no guarantee that the new items will show up in a timely manner - Jogo and Som have static inventories, while Dara has static rotations.
Agreed. Plus, it's okay if someone has to quit item hunt or another quest if they are asked for an unavailable item. That's also part of the game. I think if item hunt is allowed to ask for cash shop stuff and other big ticket items, this should be alright.
"I think if item hunt is allowed to ask for cash shop stuff and other big ticket items, this should be alright."
There is a massive difference between a 500 CSC Cash Shop Trunk that's always in stock (we don't have much CS items over 500 CSC anymore anyway), and an item that literally has 0 in existence, and no way to have more until RNG said so.
and yet I've been asked for neugarten stuff for quests which is only avail from those special shops at that specific time of year. So not just fresh and flavorful that has those limitations.

Support. I don't think increasing the number of items in rotation from 3 to 5 will totally break Ujin, especially given how long it takes for some of his items to be released.
Though, I don't think it's a problem for very hard-to-get (even borderline unobtainable) items to be asked for by Chase. Item quest is supposed to be incredibly challenging. But Pete? Nahh.
I agree with Marcus. Fresh and Flavorful has added a bunch of new items recently and three of them haven't even been stocked yet. AFAIK NPCs can still ask for them (though I can't confirm this). I also don't think Item Hunt is an issue, and if this were just a matter of collectors needing to wait to get the item I'd agree that it's just about being patient.
But I do have a problem with certain quests or games being literally impossible to complete because the item needed can't be acquired and isn't owned by anyone. If it were just really expensive or hard to find I'd be okay with it, but when there's no chance to win it just becomes unfair and unnecessarily punishing. Fresh and Flavorful has over 50 items it can currently stock. I don't think showing 10% of the stock versus 6% will ruin it, especially when there's the chance of getting the same items in stock multiple days in a row.
Reminder that Yuzu and Umeboshi have been officially announced on March 16th, and have not restocked a single time. That's over a month ago, I think that's a good sign that things kinda have to change.
Muskmelon has also not restocked yet, but it was part of the March 27th batch.
i think just having the items stock on the day of release (either a limited amount or for a limited period of the day) would probably be a better solution, as having an extra 4% chance of showing up after being released doesn't actually solve the issue of the new items not stocking. maybe tweaking the code so that items won't stock more than two days in a row could help, or having ujin "clear out the stock in the backroom" and release a limited amount of things low in circulation once every few months might be helpful to keep items in circulation.
Good day, if does not restock by the end of the week, it means that it will not have restocked a single time in two months.
;)
I'd love to see this happen.
Ujin's is a bad example of a 'game within a game'. The stock is set price and unlimited when it shows up. It's not a good or profitable place to restock. Not every single feature of site needs to be 'challenging' and TBH 'time gating' isn't a challenge. lmao
And TBH with the amount of times an item has not actually been in the cycle and users have had to beg staff to fix the problem, I'd say an update like this could be beneficial in helping users to find these broken items faster.
Good day, it's been two months and Umeboshi still hasn't stocked a single time.
At this point, I'm allowed to yell, right?
how dare you want more fruits and veggies!!!
(I'll look into this :))
