Hello all! I am brand new to Subeta, and I'm really liking it so far! I came over from Dappervolk after seeing the magic a friend (Seven here on Subeta) created with their user profile (and also their avatar looked rad!), and I thought maybe I should finally just join up here, haha. I'm really into the huge amounts of customization there is for basically every aspect of the site.
Now onto a few general questions:
Is it possible to search for multiple things at a time when doing a shop search? For example, just searching for "potion" or something like that?
Do you actually need to feed your pets to 10/10 every day? I have 8 pets now, and I feel like that will be really expensive haha. Will anything happen to your pets if you don't feed them? Is it just for battling?
For pet battles... I'm really only using my pet Salteha to battle, but I am constantly getting instantly wrecked, haha. I've read the battles guide, but it's pretty confusing to me (I think I am probably just not familiar enough with everything). Is it just that I'm still quite under-leveled? Is there a need to have pets that can battle? I'm mostly just here for the avatar dress up elements, but from reading the battling guide, it can be helpful to have a pet that can battle.. Is that right?
I read in the forums somewhere that you can't take part in past plot events. Is there a place where you can read the plot events in chronological order sorta like a book? I know there's the Subetapedia, but all of it is so disjointed.
Are there forums that are still relatively active discussion-wise? I'm not sure if I've just been looking in the wrong places, but it seems like the forums are for the most part are pretty dead. I've read in some of the other introduction threads, though, that the community is still fairly vibrant here. Are there guilds or anything like that where people are mostly hanging out and talking?
Is there actually a way to search the forums so that I won't make repeat threads? Or is forum search just fully disabled in general?
Last one just for fun: what's one piece of information you wish you knew when you just started playing? Or just your best advice in general for someone just starting out?
I'm sorry if these questions are silly or annoying! I'm having a lot of fun just flailing around, but these are things I couldn't quite figure out on my own lol.
Edit: Oh my gosh, anon, thank you so much for the gift box! I wish I could thank you properly! Everyone is so kind ðŸ˜
WELCOME!
not... really... ? The best way I know for what I think you seek is to get familiar with SubetaLodge.org - I can't reach that site on my laptop so if I think of it when I'm back home, desktop, I'll say more here.
nope nope nope - only real need to feed pet - they cannot be hungry if you plan to battle - but even 1/10 will suffice here. Or if you want to work on achievements for feeding them lots of things, or specific things... or some people want their pets to eat certain things because it is who their pet is. Like maybe a fan pet for Supernatural, they fed him lots of pie and beer. lol
getting a little training in Riverside with Jim goes a long way to not getting instantly knocked out. https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/893452 -- that thread is a great guide from beginner to advanced. The 4th message in the thread - drill into "TIER 1" to see a list of the easier opponents. Click on the name and it will take you to a page with more details, like what items you can win from beating them. The thread is also a good place to ask for recommendations on weapons. SubetaLodge is also a resource for finding weapons that your pet can handle. You can always reach out to me too cuz I'm friendly like that, although maybe not the most informed battler. :)
You can get an idea of routine holidays here: https://subeta.net/subetapedia/index.php?act=ventry&id=141 Dive into the Supetapedia https://subeta.net/subetapedia/ which has more info for holidays - including everything behind SURVIVAL - origins and stuff. This feels like an incomplete answer though - not thinking of a place where all past plots are detailed.. huh...
I mostly use forums for events so not the best person to ask
5 again :) - ummm... I think the classy way to search was disabled. I sometimes google like "Subeta malticorn" and maybe it will show a link to see if people are talking about it. I'm not sure the best answer to this either I regret :)
3. If you're an achievement hunter, you'll want at least 1 battle pet. Also events often have a battle component (not necessary for the event, but always a fun part of it), so again having a battle pet is a good idea. Training and battle quests can help to advance a pet pretty quickly. 4. SubetaLodge has a good page for that, Click here 5 a) There's an active discord community, but I don't know anything about discord so I can't help with that. There are forum groups. My own Frenzy group used to be very active, but then staff changed how certain forum benefits are awarded and the group died down. Nothing left to keep it to subeta, which is one of the reasons for the discord upsurge. But do check out the Forum group forum. 5 b) the search is disabled. I just use Google to look for threads. If you use the Google advanced search you can limit the search to Subeta.net 6) Certain achievements are way easier to get as a new user. You really want to be doing Sarah quests every day. They are easy, profitable and you can do them freely for the first few months (6, or maybe 3 months, I can't remember). After that time though, you can only do Sarah quests if you have less than 1.5 M sP on your account.

For some reason, I can see that you replied to the topic, but I can't see your post! I'm not sure if I did something wrong to hide replies or something, but I can see your reply when I search your posts. So thank you for such an awesome in-depth response!!
Okay, that's good to know! The link you typed worked just fine for me, and that is actually perfect! Looks like I'll have a lot of research to do in regards to items and stuff :)
That is SUCH a relief haha. I was afraid they'd get mad at me or get sick or something. I need achievements to get into the Blue Building it looks like, so maybe I'll continue feeding just a few of them each day for the achievement but not bother otherwise.
This thread is GREAT! I was wondering if there was a way to find the weaker opponents besides just going on their health or something. That's amazingly useful!
Okay, that's good to know too! I was just wondering if I potentially missed some place where all the lore was dumped besides the Subetapedia. I'll just continue to make my way through that. The list of events in their order is so nice to have too. I'm surprised (in a good way) that there are so many throughout the year! That's neato :)
No worries! I was just asking since one of the requirements for the Blue Building is 100 posts, haha. I can always do the forum games too!
5 (now 6 lol). OOPS lol I didn't realize I put it twice. Don't mind me as I edit this after this post lol... Ah, that's a shame, but I'll definitely try the google technique next time!
6 (now 7 haha). Yeah, I figured it might be a tough question, since it definitely seems like a site that's evolved in a big way over time, which is really great! Everything you've written has been SO helpful!
Thank you again for your super detailed response! 💖
Welcome to subeta! i hope you will like it here.
no you can't seach for multiple things at once.
It is just for Batteling, you do not need to feed them at all otherwise though there are Achievements for some foods eaten by your pet.
you should train your pet at the training center and you need weapons to battle, i'm not a huge batteler myself and am very confused by it aswell but there are special rewards, some are werables, when you beat a challenger 5 times.
I don't think you can but i'm not sure, maybe subeta lodge?
There are more active Forums, some do look a little dead though, i'm not that social and mostly just in the foum group forums. When there is an event the Event forum is the most active.
you can't seach for forum threads as far as i know
I started here becuse of my sister and she told me a few things so i had a guide XD But i do have a few things that might help do your Quests and you can add the quests info to your sidebar to have a fast link to them! Saggitarius asks for more expensive things but he gives you a fair amount of SP you can turn in the Wizard token all at one in your currency vault
In the event stores are so many cool wearables you can get relatively easy
when you have a shop you can go to the "quick stock" option and add multiple items to your Wardrobe at once
- it's there it's there! Apparently there was a bug and they must have figured it out. Yayy. Now I can fix my typos.
I see some posts now, but still not yours, but thank you so much for the info! And aww, that would be so much fun to play with your sibling! I would love to convince my sister to join, but she's been really busy IRL lately, so I don't think she'd have the time to really get into everything.
Thank you for all the tips! I had added the quests as a bookmark, but for some reason I didn't realize you could add them to your sidebar. That's a bit nicer! Also, it's good to know that I don't have to pay as much attention to pet battling as I thought. I'll keep playing around with it, but if it doesn't click, maybe I'll just put it on the back burner haha.
And oh my gosh, thank you SO MUCH for the gifts! They're honestly all so beautiful 😠I don't know how to thank you enough!!
yea, the forums are a bit funky right now.
you're welcome, i really like these items so i thought you will enjoy them too ^^
Hi and welcome to Subeta!
1.) SubetaLodge is an awesome resource, but (depending on the level of detail you need) Subeta's own Item Directory also gets the job done, and (with item hovers) may be faster/more convenient.
2.) While you don't need to keep pets fed and happy, if you decide that you want to do so anyway, you may find the Lakeview Resort handy. The downside of using the resort is that you can no longer manually feed/play with your pets if you do have the sudden urge to (e.g. for Major Drills' quests or for achievements); you'd have to remove them from the resort and wait for their hunger/happiness levels to start falling again.
3.) This doesn't directly answer your question, but - if battle isn't something you enjoy, don't do it! It can be an awful tedious slog for some fairly minor benefits, IMO. However, even if you ignore that aspect of Subeta for the time being, I'd suggest you pick at least one pet to be trained consistently; if you ever do want to pick up battling (for an event, for achievements, for challenger loot) it will be a lot more rewarding if you have a pet ready to go with decent stats. (Eventually, if you get a sufficiently strong pet, you can smack down the bulk of opponents with zero skill, strategy, or fancy weapon sets... speaking from experience, here.)
4.) There is a Subeta Wiki! Alas, it is not very well maintained, but it does have details of at least some of the past plots.
...Skipping 5 & 6 as I am not the most socially savvy individual.
7.) Not sure if I have anything of value to add, but here are my rambling thoughts anyway:
blah blah blah
- Keep an eye on the news, otherwise you could miss out on all sorts of things.
Subeta has its own extensive list of suggested dailies, which is worth taking a leisurely look at... but ultimately, I found it much more useful to have my own custom-built list of links to places I want to visit frequently, using the Notepad Widget added to my sidebar.
If you only do one daily, make it the Bathhouse. Every day.
Quest! Always start with Shinwa; she's like a free addition on top of other quests you'd (probably?) be doing anyway, and there's a reasonable chance she'll give you a somewhat valuable item (stat booster). Then move onto the Wizard - I like to get his quests out of the way as early in the day as possible, as there's a chance random event with a very limited time (15 minutes) that can give you 1 extra Wizard quest, if you haven't already finished his quests for the day it goes to waste. As for the rest... well, YMMV on how worthwhile they all are to wade through, but do try (keeping an eye on the news!) to check out what the Weekend Quest (increased rewards) is every Friday (through to Sunday).
Last bit of very broad general advice, and it sounds like stating the obvious but I'll say it anyway - remember that you're on this site to have fun, so don't waste time on things you don't enjoy. Obviously it's great that there are so many things to do here! - but I find it easy to get into the mindset of, "I have to do this [big list of things]" - whether it's dailies, quests, achievements, events...Sometimes you can get so focused on these goals that they become a chore and you risk getting burned out.
first of all, thank you for the stickers! I know your profile says you don't expect anything, but that was a very nice surprise!
Oh, I haven't really looked at the item directory of the site, but if I can sort of figure out how best to search with this, it might definitely be the easiest option. Thank you for pointing it out!
That's really handy! I could just keep most of my pets in there and just keep my 2 pets I've been focusing on feeding, I suppose! Then I could still work towards the achievements but not feel so overwhelmed, haha.
Okay, that's great! I've just been training a bunch of my pets so far, because I felt like I just couldn't get anywhere, so maybe I'll just keep trucking along with training until I feel like really diving into battling.
(I'm also not super hugely social, haha, so no worries there! But sometimes I prefer to contribute to a conversation instead of just doing a word game, but it's also nice that it seems there are a lot of places where you can just post to get your post count up without spamming)
It's also really good to know that it's not necessarily mandatory to do absolutely everything. Since you're right, there is a LOT to do (which is also a good thing!). It's nice that we can sort of tailor it to however we want to enjoy the site.
Thank you again! This has been super helpful! 💖
Welcome to Subeta! Looks like you've made great headway on your own already, and had most of your questions answered
I think in addition to the points already answered
Battling - The battle forums has a thread called Battle Chat, which has a lot of the battling 'regs' who are happy to help out and give info if you stumble into particular questions c:
Guilds - We have forumgroups (formerly known as Cults), there are some older established groups around (off the top of my head Kindred Spirits, Menagerie, Wizarding are well established groups), and you're not limited to being in only one. Some of their activity will not be visible on their recruiting thread, because forumgroups can opt to have a private board visible only to the group members. For example I am in a group that isn't actively recruiting, so we don't even have a board on the first page of the groups board, even though we have active members daily.
Besides that, there are also a fair few 'Chit Chat' groups under Small talk, these are pretty relaxed social groups where regulars hang out without as much direct focus or event generation as perhaps some of the forumgroups have.
If you still have any questions, don't be a stranger!

Thank you for the extra info! I didn't know about the Battle Chat, so I'll definitely take a peek at that once my pets are a bit better and I'm ready to try battling again :) I also didn't know you could be in multiple forum groups, so that's great! I'll definitely need to dig through them a bit more.
I hope you're having a lovely day! 💖
You've already got a lot of great answers from everyone above so I am just here to tell you hi and welcome and that I love what you've done with your HA! :)
