Most internet forums have some kind of tagging system, subeta doesn't. The subforums help and people tag things if they feel like it ([CW], b/s/t) but who knows what they all mean. So to help bring clarity in several of the more chaotic subforums I propose a standard set of tags.

Ways tags could be done form least to most work: -Add a list with standard tags to the forum rules thread.(but honestly who ever reads those) -Add a thread named "Tags to use in this subforum (and their meaning)" or something similar and pin it to the top of the subforum (Makes it easy to find, easiest to make) -Add tags to "create a new topic" that can be added in a similar way the reserved tag can be added to a trade, but without any options that actually filter things out. (would need different tags for different subforums) -Same as above option but the tags are actually connected to a working filter system (a girl can dream)

So the whole "what's this thread about" problem mainly happens on event forums but I think some other forums would benefit from this too.

Event forums: -Kissing/flowering/TOTing/gifting etc. -Contest -CW shop

R200 advertising -Buy -Sell -Trade

Item Pricing -CW -Non CW

Suggestions and ideas -Event related -Quality of life

Help and questions -Wardrobe -Rules (I know people are supposed to file a ticket but they are going to post regardless, so why not make them easy to find) -Event question -How does this work? -Where can I find this

Multiple/ all forums -Lock please

Now I don't want for tags to become mandatory of something, but I think giving peaple the materials to work with might make it far easier to find stuff without admins having to make a milion subforums.

Any other tag suggestions?

Support - I would absolutely make use of these while browsing the forums and searching for/making topics. Anything to help make these forums more navigable and accessible would be great!

I could see this as a replacement for the broken search function. Right now its nearly impossible to find old threads. I have a bunch of threads saved, but to keep everything I might need to refer to again will just overwhelm that list and still make things impossible to find.

I'm just going to say it, it'll sound rude but:

Why are we discussing replacing one broken search function with something else that has probably a lot more working parts to it with the potential to break and reliance on users to, y'know, tag things.

If there's a prompt to remind users to put tags in, sure. Full support.

But I can hear the complaining about having to be reminded to tag and yeah, no. I'll pass.

People are already using tags on their own in the forums. I just hope that standardising them might make things clearer by for example: making shure there's not 5 different tags meaning buy in use, or that [CW] in a event forum is not used by both CW shops and contests giving away CW's.

The application of this tag system is secondary to me. I am just as happy if they just make a thread with the tags and pin it to the top of the relevant subforum. I am not arguing for people to get bugged to put tags in, just that people might be motivated to do so by themselves.
