"I hope you enjoy the beanbag and the convenience of direct to collection!"

Visited the antique shop as I wanted to surprise a user with a wishlist item, and I get the above notice!?! This is cruel! Please, is there a way to undo this?

Sadly I think not. I believe purcahses out of that shop go straight into where it would with exception to a couple items. Books get read to a pet of your choice, Plushies and beanbags go into collections, food is fed to a pet of choice as well.

That said I also think there is a secondary more expensive option that would let you have it in inventory. If I remember right the direct to x spot is for the cheaper pricing.

FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.

....ahhhhh I see now that the beanbag tab comes after text reading "Direct to Collections".

Ugh. Well that's an expensive mistake. Thank you kindly Kore for explaining. :)

buying from the direct to collection tabs does just that, it sends the item straight into your collection for a reduced price. if you want to buy the item outright, you'd need to buy it from the reading drive tab.

i know general policy is that staff do not issue refunds for "user error" but since you didn't understand what you were doing due to the unclear interface design, you could still ask through a ticket if they'd be willing to undo the transaction.

I'd say that the interface is anything but unclear, it separates Direct to Collection from buyable items, and the DtC ones aren't even the first ones

The description is also pretty clear

"By choosing to send a collection item, such as a plushie, food, or book, "Direct to Collection" you will get the item at a discount, however it will entirely bypass your inventory. Books and foods will automatically be used by your active pet!"

I just went shopping instead of reading the text above the shop. It was a stupid mistake.

I want to pour out buckets of love to the sweet generous Angel who anonymously sent me the beanbag so I can gift it onward.

I am humbled and grateful <3

it's true that the description explains that, but there's no instinctive reason to think you need to read the entire description word-by-word; most people are inclined to skim until they spot what they're looking for. the words "direct to collection" are in small italic text with the same hierarchy as all the other tab headers, which is a weak indicator that the following tabs are part of an entirely different system than the first 7 tabs, and it's very easy to gloss over when you're looking for something specific. "i need a beanbag... oh, beanbags! there it is!"

a clearer interface would have regular buying and direct to collection buying more clearly separated & visually distinct so you know at a glance which one you're doing. even if it has to stay within the constraints of the way special shops are already coded, it could help to give the tab headers different background or outline colors.

:) Let's try to stay on topic for this discussion.

If you think a change could be implemented to the shop, maybe make a site feedback thread about it? :) A thread over there may bring more visibility to the issue so staff may possibly address it!

Thank youuu ❤
