I was thinking about this, and I was wondering if anyone else would like a way to use scode to link groups without pinging them. In my mind they would look similar to the pet scode, and instead of a pet headshot it uses the group's icon. You would use the group's hashtag without the hash sign. And if possible, it would display the name of the group rather than the tag.
[group=tag]
example:
[group=siteupdate] Would display as the icon headshot (terracoon smashing server) the group's name underneath (Site Updates) and link to the group's page (https://subeta.net/forums.php/groups/#/group/6323)
The uses for this would be advertising or directing people to a group's page without pinging the group, such as showing people the ping groups for utilities like the bathhouse, token shop restock, siteupdate, etc. Another use would be preserving the link to the group page when editing a post - many people put a space between the hash and the tag to prevent multiple pinging while they edit a post, which loses the link to the page where you join the group. People could pair them up and remove the ping while editing, while the link to the group would remain.
Pinging groups with the hashtag would still work the same, but this would only be to show a group rather than ping it.
What do you think? Would it be too similar to the pet scode and cause visual confusion?
Oh I like this! Would be great in signatures too.
Yes please!

There are a times where this would be super useful. I support this.
I wouldn't mind having something like this!
I know we could also just grab the link to the forum group and put it somewhere in the post, but this would be an easier way to do that with sCode if you know the tag name.
It would also be nice like you said, for people wanting to share certain groups with a new player or something to help them out. It would be much easier to use an sCode like this to link to the groups instead of having to go find the individual links for each one on the forum group pages.
I hope something like this would be possible to implement, because it would be helpful :)
