According to the shop search it's battle loot. But I've checked Subetalodge, the guide, and the user-run spreadsheet and couldn't find what opponent drops it. (Please don't snap at me, I tried to find the answer myself before asking. Very possible I overlooked it by accident, too.)

It's okay if the opponent's no longer available or a really high tier, I just would like to know the answer. Thanks for any help!

I did a quick search through the guides as well and couldn't find it.

It was probably part of a war bosses loot table or it could have been removed from an opponent's loot table and loot tag wasn't removed.

There was a challenger named COZCOATL that doesn't have anything aside from it's 5 win loot drops listed in the guide.

Couatl Feather is a Spells Galore Item. Haven't seen one there in ages, though. I wouldn't know, if it really was a challenger drop also. As THESOVEREIGN said, probably random from a special challenger.

I've been grinding through all Normal/Secret/Cash shop challengers with other pets and dumping all the loot in my vault for now and I don't have one... so i'd agree its not part of the currently available loot drops.

I think these dropped off that Aztec feathered snake boss from the Omen Islands events/plots and possibly also some of the Pylots as non-special loot. They’re sort of like how you see River Mud or Wolf Tooth as a loot drop... it’s a drop, but not off any currently available challenger.

It was Pylot non-special loot. As well as a spell ingredient, not sure where or if it restocks now days.

I know it restocks in Spells Galore (at rarity 97, not very often I imagine), just hoped against hope that maaaaybe, possibly the opponent that dropped them was still out there. Given the name, I had assumed it was probably an Omen Islands-plot related opponent and therefore not available - but I didn't know Pylot dropped them too!

Oh well, will keep training just in case Pylot gets re-released someday :D (and will also keep checking the shop in case I have a case of sheer dumb luck and manage to catch a restock)

Well, they are less than 100k in user shops, so not precisely unaffordable, if you want one badly.

I'm aware, thank you. Actually I wouldn't mind paying that much if I only wanted one, for a pet's TC or something. But it's to make a Terra Focujin scroll. Since I'm buying multiples, plus other ingredients, I want to spend as little per ingredient as possible.

I don't need everything right away. I'm willing to be patient enough to either wait for a price drop or catch a restock. =)

I do feel like threads like this highlight that this feature should really be refined to define exactly which challenger drops what item, as the tag in SS is pretty useless w.o further information.
