Hi, I am pretty new to Subeta so hopefully this isn't too much of a noob question, but I have adopted a few pets from the pound. Some I adopted already coloured, but others I have zapped hoping for something good. I plan to zap and train them up and offer them to people who might want them on the adoption forums. But I just wanted to check in first and ask what people think I should focus on to improve with the pets as I am not really sure what is most important here yet. When I was on Neopets years and years ago the colour seemed most important. But it seems different on Subeta. So, should I just be zapping? Should I be raising intelligence to a certain level? Training certain stats? I guess I am wondering what people look for in a pet to adopt. I gather legacy names are a good thing, and unique names too. Anything else?

As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Anything can be of interest to somebody. But in general I've noticed that colors tends not to matter too much. Most colors are easy to get on Subeta, especially in comparison to Neopets. Ones that are harder/more expensive, like Angelic, Blacklight and Harvest might be more sought after, but otherwise color isn't too much of a big deal. Since colors are a lot easier to obtain here, most people just change a pet anyway when they adopt.

The things that tend to be most sought after are low ID pets (less than 1 mil) and some legacy names. I'm not sure about stats because I'm not into battling/haven't gotten into it yet, but I do see tier 3+ pets advertised for their stats along with whatever else.

With the introduction of non-unique names, IDs have become the main thing with pets in my experience. They're kinda like UCs are to Neo, except way easier to find. But I think zapping an experiment that is popular would also help, so I would say to keep zapping if you're trying to adopt out pets that others may like.

I think Porygon hit it pretty much on the head. The things most in demand are the things you can't change about a pet: IDs, legacy names, and birthdays.

This is because most, if not all, colors and species are pretty obtainable on Subeta. The more harder-to-obtain ones, such as angelic, neela, and bhakoru might gain more traction - especially angelic. But you can't zap angelic; you can only buy the potion from the cash shop or other users.

As someone who tries to get all my pets to a high stat level, I do appreciate pets who have been trained some, although that is secondary to the other things I'm looking for (names and birthdays). I'm especially happy when I find a pet who has been trained at least to T3 or level 100 with maxed other stats (which is about halfway between T3 and T4). These are usually called "baby battlers" in advertisements because they can fight the easy and most of the medium opponents fairly well but would need further training to go beyond that.

I'd recommend keeping an eye out on 's thread of people looking for birthdays. If you have older pets, that's a great place to start finding owners for pets. I'm pinging her here because I'm on mobile and can't get the link atm.

P.S. That's not to say you wouldn't find an owner with a pet who was a certain species and color. Some people like to adopt pets that way! It's just a matter of finding the right person, which is what the ad boards are all about.

Plus there are sometimes "dream boards" where people post what experiments or color/species combos they are looking for. I know used to run one but I'm not sure if it's up to date. I feel like there might be another one out there right now too.

[Edit]Forgot to mention: I usually look for reading levels at 300/400 plus.

covered a lot of the specifics. Some things worth noting aside from the obvious, People are interested in the newer experiment pets. Depending on how much time/money you want to spend on a pet before you send it on it's way. Things like beginner gourmand or intelligence is usually a really great draw (in addition to stats) but speaking short term, your best bet is new experiments.

When it comes to pets, a lot of people looking for legacy names or ids aren't picky about the pet color/type because they have their own plans for the pet.

Depends on who you want to adopt out to. Non-battlers like things like birthdays, good legacy names and low ID (less than 1 mil). Battlers will prefer high stats and/or high intel. It all depends on how much time and effort you want to spend in training, but pets that are tier 6+ (around 700 in each stat) or 500+ Intel always generate a lot of interest. Pets tier 3 and lower (around 250 in each stat) with little to no Intel are more common and more attractive to non-battlers.

Thank you everyone, this has helped a lot. I've a got better idea of things now, and can plan out my approach a little better (and differently lol). :D
