Okay, I have decided I would like to apply for Discern. Possibly also Transform, but only if there isn't any other interest (don't want to be too greedy!).

Both of them would be part of my Zyrek/bubble universe group. I know I've told you bits and pieces about this section, but I've solidified some things lately, so I'm going to lay it all out here:

Zyrek was formed when the star sisters who created Iwnhe (eye-whin) had a quarrel and fought so hard they created a rift in spacetime. Zyrek snapped into existence at the very moment when the stronger star sister dealt a heavy blow on her sister, leaving her permanently wounded. It started out as a delicate but self-sufficient universe with 12 sentient beings tied to the 12 elements that made up the universe. These 12 beings/elements also correlate to the 12 literary archetypes.

Unfortunately, the ruler and rebel archetypes (Quin and Belong) got into a fight which resulted in Belong falling through a hole to Iwnhe. This put Zyrek out of balance and initiated its decay. Trying to fix things by finding a way out of the decaying universe, the magician archetype (Quickly) sent the explorer archetype (Turn) into the Iwnhe universe. This had two unfortunate consequences: it inadvertently trapped an Iwnhe resident (Rien) in between the worlds, and it sped up the decay of the bubble universe because now there were two missing elements.

The other Zyrek residents include:

• Carnations (the queen of Zyrek and also the caregiver archetype)
• Correct (the innocent archetype who has a black and white view of everything)
• Crafted (the creator who believes the secret to art lies in the origin of all creation)
• Daze (the sage who is very in tune with the heart of the universe)
• By (the lover who is really into Zyrek's version of classic rock)
• Quivering (the hero archetype)

I currently have 3 C names, 3 Q names, 2 B names, 1 D name and 1 T name, so both Discern and Transform could help even things out a bit.

How Discern would fit in: Discern would fill the role of jester. Basically, she would play the part of comedic relief while also pointing out truths that no one else notices. I think the perfect look for her would be a chibi torrey, because it looks laid back like it doesn't take life seriously but also there's intelligence and mischief in its eyes.

While Discern would play the role of comedic relief in everyone else's story, her main story would be about convincing Quin to leave (and let everyone else leave) the bubble universe. She is the only one not afraid of Quin's harshness and might, as well as being the only one who Quin actually (half) listens to. In an unhappy story she would likely end up dead, having sacrificed herself to save everyone else. But since I don't like to write unhappy stories, and since that's not really in her archetype's description, she more likely will save the day with a joke and a laugh. Heck, she might even tickle Quin out of Zyrek!

How Transform would fit in: Transform would be the everyman archetype. Like with Discern, I think that Transform's name works well for this role as it's kind of diagonal to expectations. The everyman is grounded and sensible, but also set in their ways; relatable, but also reluctant to face real danger. In Transform's case this would mean that she resists the idea of leaving Zyrek and when she can't convince the others to stop, she hinders their efforts. She is the reason Rien gets stuck in-between worlds, because she sabotages Quickly's experiment. She tries to convince Crafted and Daze to focus on reviving the universe and preventing its death. She also is extremely protective of Correct and identifies with her simplistic view of the way things work. It's not easy finding a pet that looks relatable and yet fearful, but I think the dark matter kerubi fits the bill:

When Transform has a life-changing moment, she stops sabotaging her fellow Zyrekians and starts helping them figure out how to leave. This turns the tide and brings them all much closer to finding their freedom.

I'd be quite happy to give you Discern. I do think I am gonna hold onto Transform, but I will let you know if I change my mind. -nods-
