A lot of my intrusive thoughts are around my marriage, thus relationship OCD/anxiety. We have a great relationship and are happy. I just deal with this.

I was wondering if anyone else experiences this type of OCD/anxiety or intrusive thoughts in general and what you do to cope.

I'm not officially diagnosed with OCD, but do deal with intrusive thoughts. The thing that I keep in mind is that the thought doesn't mean anything about who you are as a person, but your reaction to them matters more. For example, someone disgusted by violent intrusive thoughts isn't going to end up a serial killer, because they're disgusted by those thoughts. Same goes for relationship ones; if your thoughts are about something "wrong" that could be in your relationship, but you know it's not accurate to you or your partner, then the important thing is that you know in your mind and heart what's true. I hope I'm explaining that well!

For days when I'm having a bad time with intrusive thoughts, it helps for me to get my mind off things by doing something that distracts me--like watching a TV show, playing a video game, etc. It just needs to be engaging and somewhat mindless lol.

I hope that helps!

I have intrusive thoughts at times. Anxiety often accompanies them. I also play video games to help cope with this. Sometimes TV, too. Music sometimes helps, as well. You need to find something that will occupy your mind and keep the thoughts at bay. It can be any hobby, for that matter. As long as you enjoy the activity and are able to somewhat focus on it, it should help.
