Hi there! I've been a very come-and-go kind of player on here for tons of years but I decided to play more actively again.

I won't lie, I'm only posting on the forums because I want to slowly work toward getting Blue Building access, but since I need 100 posts anyway I thought I'd try to make them count!

I'd love to make a few friends to chat with. I'm a big fan of video games, web design/coding, drawing, and generally listening to other people's problems. I also write and illustrate my own web comic that's been in the works for over 6 years and has over 300 pages of content, so I'd certainly be down to talk about that/share it if anyone is interested.

Enough about me though! I'd love to hear about some of my fellow players and what you enjoy! What are your hobbies, your favorite Subeta activities? Let's hear it folks :)

I've been on Subeta for 12 years now, I had a hiatus around 2007 I think and came back this year at some point, I think...it's been a little bit of a blur remembering when things happened lately lol

I'd love to hear more about your web comic! My husband is in to comics, I am not, but I try for him :) I too like video games but I tend to stick to RPGs like Final Fantasy. I do like Fable, Eternal Sonata and Diablo but I don't branch out much past that.

I used to play Fable 2 (or maybe 3?) way back, I should dig it out and play again soon :D I'm also a huge Final Fantasy fan - which one is your fave? I'd have to say FFX is my favorite of all time, but I genuinely enjoy nearly all of the FF titles I've played. I've also been thinking about getting back into FF14, if I can find someone to hang out with anyway. My friend who got me into it is way too high level and won't make time to help me catch up to him lol.

As for my comic, it's called Duplexium. It's a romantic drama ^//^ so it may not be something your hub would be interested in, depending on what he likes. It also features anthros as the characters, which I know can be off-putting for some people. Haha thanks! I used to be stuck on doing nothing but realistic HA's but when I started playing again this year I decided I was gonna have fun with it. :)

I played both 2 and 3 for Fable (haven't finished 3 yet but did finish 2). I get on these kicks to play a video game and I PLAY...like for days at a time with breaks to eat and sometimes function lol and then I stop for months. I also have this thing where I want to finish all the side quests before I beat the game. So with that being said...I have only ever beat FF1 (yep, the NES version!) and FFX xD FFX is definitely my favorite too, I loved the story line and just everything about it. The only FF games that I don't like are like Dirge of Cerebus (the 1st person shooter one) and anything where I have to play online with other people. I'm pretty introverted and like I said, I binge play and then stop so I don't want to subject people to my terrible playing style/schedule lol I do have to say, FF7 remake IS AWESOME and I cannot wait for the 2nd part to come out!!! I think that's mainly why I never finished any of the other games before FFX, because I jumped from a Nintendo to a Playstation 1 (Chrono Cross and Crono Trigger are also awesome) then jumped to a PS3 so I really hung on the graphics once I upgraded and just haven't really wanted to try the old ones again. I really do wish they'd remake them all.

I think I have FF14 but I haven't even attempted to play it yet. I was playing 13 and then stopped after a binge and then I ended up getting behind lol

I totally feel your gameplay style, I'm the same way a lot of the time, but with the shameful truth that I don't go on long breaks unless it's to focus on my comic instead, or taking care of housework. The FF7 remake was soooo lit!! I was trying to beat it on the hardest difficulty (I like hunting for trophies on playstation and that's one of the requirements) but it takes so much grinding and finesse, which isn't really my style. Maybe some day!

Also delighted to know you're another FFX fan! I actually went out of my way to buy some mini character figurines from Japan that were featured with coke bottles, of all things, so I have miniatures of the main cast plus Seymore! It's silly but they're one of my favorite collectibles I own. And I have to confess, I miss the turn based playstyle that 10 offered. I've totally played all of FF13 before, even got all of the equipment and max levels (which is a nightmare, I don't recommend it!) but it's just not as fun to me as being able to take my time and truly optimize just how much I want to kick butt!

Also, I've heard of Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger but never played, what are those ones like? Do they have good stories/characters or is it just a fun to play kind of game?

Chrono Trigger is an RPGs that starts in pre-historic times then goes through the middle ages and even the future with a lot of time travel happening. It's got the typical ATB system but it doesn't flip to a battle screen when you encounter an enemy, you stay on the map. I really liked the story line to it but it has been ages so I can't fully remember it at this point. Chrono Cross came after. I'm checking out the Wiki page and it appears this was actually a very popular game for the SNES that was released for the DS and on a couple other platforms. I may have to check that out!

Honestly, the only reason I take breaks is because I have to share with the husband xD that and my breaks tend to coincide with the busy time at my job, which is turning in to all the time (exception being right now with Covid). You sound like my husband a little with games - he starts them on the most difficult level and then does the easy levels except he plays games like Last Of Us, Spiderman, Infamous and Uncharted.

Soooo...I have Chocobos sitting on my fireplace xD my co-worker goes to the San Diego Comicon every year and this year he brought me back two mage chocobos! You have no idea how much I squeed when he handed them to me lol The miniatures you have sound very cool though! Not silly at all :)

- sorry for the delayed reply, new years got the better of me! I had a party planned for the night of Jan 1 but my friends thought it was for the 31st so I ended up hosting a party I wasn't fully ready for! I spent the first day of the new year catching up on housework :'D

Chrono Trigger sounds promising, I will have to check it out more! I knew I'd heard about it somewhere, I know it's like, acclaimed or maybe an occult classic or something.

Also I should clarify, usually I'm NOT the kind of person to play on hard mode! I like more casual games the majority of the time; I just liked the FF7 gameplay enough to try on hard but it's going to take forever because I'm not very good! lol

Also aaah I'm jealous, those Chocobos sound so cute! I've never been to any kind of Con before, it's definitely on my bucket list. If I do go, I totally want to go all out and cosplay as Rikku from FFX (not the really weirdly slutty FFX-2 design a lot of people seem to prefer). I don't have the figure for it, but YOLO!

Thank you so much for letting me know about Bards of a Feather! I read the intro post about the group and I absolutely want to join! I'll work on my intro paragraph to get invited to the group soon! I'm thrilled to know there's a community of story tellers and artists on here like this, that's exactly the kind of group I need. :D

You mentioned pups - what kind of dogs do you have? One of my coworkers is a Greyhound lover and trains them for competitions, and what I've learned is that a lot of dog people really care about their specific breed! I'm curious if you're that kind of person too. :) I like dogs, but I haven't ever owned on myself. I'm a cat person! I've got a black cat I adopted when he was a kitten, I think he's just kind of a farm cat mixed breed though. Not that that makes him inferior in any way. ;)

You also mentioned rollerblading, do you just enjoy that casually? I used to LOVE rollerskating as a kid, but it fell out of vogue and I unfortunately didn't have a reason to keep pursing it. Some day I'd love to go to a skating rink just for the fun of it, although I'm so uncoordinated I'm sure I'd fall a few times getting the hang of it again ^^;

Yeah I’m that way lol. I have a mutt! He’s Corgi/Shepherd/chow mix and I’m totally obsessed with corgis. My Subeta pet is actually based on him.

Back in the day for me rollerblading was like a weekly activity. Now it’s more for fitness and getting outside which honestly is wayyyyy more fun then on a rink! It took a couple times to get it down but it comes back to you just like riding a bike!!

Lol! No worries, :) I hope you were able to catch up on the housework but still enjoy your day! Today is my 1st full day back to work after all of the holidays and we have a Slack outage so I'm working at half pace. Good times!! lol

Fluffy pets are the best <3 I want a Maine Coon cat some day, although once I get one I'm sure I'll regret it because of terrible cat allergies... but FLUFFY THOUGH!! :D

As for the skating, I have to be totally honest and confess I forgot it can just be a casual outdoor activity! Perhaps it's where I live, but I don't see roller bladers (ever), but I do see skateboarders sometimes. I can do neither XD I prefer long walks outside in the snow/winter, I'm one of the few I know that prefers winter over summer time. I'm forever captivated by how beautiful snow is and fascinated by how the human body can adapt for cold weather to huge extremes if trained properly.

Also regarding the Bards, I sent my introduction note to the other day, do you know if they've been away for a bit? I haven't heard back.

I guess you and I started back at work on the same day! Sorry to hear you were having technical difficulties, it's especially painful coming back to work when you have to deal with something like that. Hopefully by today you're back up and running normally! My first day back was fairly uneventful, we got a new team member that I'm hoping won't turn around and quit or be fired soon, our team has had a lot of newcomers turning over lately. It's a shame because training takes a long time and I'm obligated to help pitch in to training even when I'm slammed with work! Otherwise, I've been working on some interactive web features and trying to get them adapted properly for mobile phones before we launch the features in Feb. It's sure to keep me busy which means I'm a happy camper, I hate being bored at work.

Also I just noticed we're both using the same background! I love how you utilize the colors for your avatar. Some of the December collection items are totally gorgeous imo, it's nice to see others using them too!

, I had off the week before and week of Christmas but then everyone else was off the week of New Years so I had a dead week that I don't consider a work week lol But yea, we are all back full force now! Slack going down is frustrating when we are all remote and it's our main communication tool but thankfully it was still a somewhat slow day so it didn't get to me too much. I'm actually in charge of our training department so I feel you on the training and turn over! Your job sounds fun, are you considered a programmer? The most code I know is scode lmao I hope you are able to keep up and meet your deadlines! I'm looking forward to my work picking back up but we are pretty affected by Covid right now so our new work is trickling in. I however, am not looking forward to the boom that is going to happen when everything gets turned back on at once. It's certainly going to be interesting.

As for the HA, thank you! :) I do change her A LOT and I always try to coordinate. :) I think that December collection is my favorite, I am in love with crystals so everything is just beautiful to me.

, I'm not really much of a programmer, I'm more of a web designer by trade. I work with a lot of HTML and CSS coding, and occasionally integrate JS. I don't really know how to write JS, but I can modify existing code with trial and error (if you can even call that coding LOL). I was learning how to write Lua, which is coding language used for building games in Robolox. I have a friend who's really good at coding in Lua who was teaching me but we both got distracted with life so I have a half-baked game concept with some very basic stuff. I was trying to create a game that was a combination of Mario Party, Sonic Shuffle, and some of my own ideas (basically a board game with cards and mini games and whatnot). ANYWAY - wouldn't say I'm considered a programmer but I'd like to be some day!

I'm not really clear on what you do for work, I feel like I usually hear Slack is used as a communication tool for IT professions, but I could be projecting just because those are the kinds of teams I work around a lot. Plus I know exactly what you mean about quiet time around the holidays, tons of sudden work ALWAYS pops up a week or two after a break when everyone realizes "Oh god, X project is due way sooner than I realized asdkgjg helllp!!" lol

your job sounds fun and your game sounds very cool! I hope you get to put some more focus on it in the near future!

I wish I was clear on what I do for work lmao I work for an IT company that provides repair and project services to retail, hospitality and office businesses. Repair services are like insurance, customer pays us monthly to cover their computer, printer or server devices and if something breaks they call us and we send a tech and sometimes parts to fix it. The project side is stuff like office moves, office refreshes, register refreshes, etc. What I do is when we get a new customer, I work with them and all of our internal teams to understand what they are paying for and how to deliver it. On top of that we just migrated to a new ticketing system in 2019 and I'm responsible for not only moving all of our existing contracts over to the new system but admin the system if there are issues or when we put new features in to the system, I'm responsible for working with the programmers to develop the features, test them, document them and train our teams on how to use them. It's a lot more than I can handle but we finally finished transitioning accounts so at least that's done but we are nowhere near ready for steady state so there are a lot of enhancements still happening. Good times, right? lol
