Friends! I need your help!
I adopted Tries so, so SO long ago, and I love their name. I really do. I am primarily a Sheeta pet collector, so I am trying to decide what Sheeta color could fit him best . I need help. lol (:
Here are some of my favorite colors I don't own yet... Spectrum, Nuclear, Nightmare, Glade
Any help with his color/character would be much appreciated!
I'd love to talk about him with you! I help my friends flesh out their characters all the time.
Concerning story, did you have an idea in mind? Maybe you need a character to fill a space in an arc? Or do you write mostly one-off stories? There's a lot of potential with his name! He could be someone who tries to perfect a skill/profession and continuously fails. Maybe his story could be inspirational with the message to never give up, or maybe just one of misfortune, where no matter how hard he tries, he can't get it right. Or maybe a mash of both, where he fails at what he's trying to accomplish but makes something just as good or something that works out better in his favor.
Concerning colors, I like to go with colors that fit my character's personality/character.
For example -- Decay is a necromancer whose form is unstable without magic, so I chose riftborn for him because it's chaotic.
If you were to go with the above idea, he could be a failed gardener (glade), perhaps had an accident with nuclear waste/chemicals (nuclear), if you wanted to go a darker direction you could do someone who failed to be a good person and became a nightmare (nightmare, obviously), or the exact opposite of that -- someone who was expected to be a bad person and instead became a good person (spectrum).
But if you have arcs/other ideas where he might fit, you can give him a color based off of what suits that character best!
Seems like Porygon and I think a bit alike!
I also think that nuclear would be a good idea if you wanted to make him a scientist. Perhaps with an accident that goes horribly wrong? Perhaps he was trying to solve a great issue. Perhaps his experiments always go wrong, but he keeps trying. (And hey, maybe the radioactivity gives him some sort of superpowers!)
And there's something very innocent about the glade coloring (well, for most pets...ignore the mortiking). Maybe Tries is kind of a bumbling fool who always does their best but is constantly messing things up, much to the irritation of the people around him. Maybe it's only in nature that he feels he can be himself.
Nightmare - what if he was trying to save someone and to do so he had to give up his own soul? When he died he became a wraith/nightmare that haunts others. But what he really wants is to change to good so that he can get to the good place (maybe where his true love lives - extra motivation) so he keeps trying to do good things to regain his soul. Maybe stuff always seems to get in his way (like the evil nature of the creature he turned into, the person who is in charge of said creatures, other people's fear of him, etc.).
Maybe spectrum is someone who wants to be a painter and it's all about their attempts to and success in becoming one. A kind of inspiration/rags-to-riches (but in talent rather than money) story.
