may is a bug.. ? if i search after, like slots or random, is showing always only 5 items... all items i try, and i know there are many, shows only 5 options to choose...

I'm sorry if I misunderstand, do you mean you're looking for all the items with "slots" or "random" in the name? If you are you might do better with the Item Directory here.
They may have changed the way the regular shop search works; it may only list some items at a time in order to put less strain on Subeta's servers (I could be wrong about how that all works, someone who knows more can correct me if so.)
I believe they did change the Shop Search predictive function, and I'm not happy about it. I use it regularly for Item Scramble. Case in point - I had the item 'Red Longstockings' today. Normally, I would type 'Red L' and things that actually begin that way would appear, and as I type the 'o' and maybe the 'n' it would have narrowed down and show what I am looking for. Today the five potentials were 'Red Rreign' something, which makes no sense, since I typed 'L', not 'R'. I had to actually type the entire word for it to show in the shop search. :(
Or, 'blue plastic f', and the possibilities are beads, earrings, shoes, bottle opener and reindeer, NONE of which start with F.
I'm experiencing this too in Shop Search. Only five suggestions are given and they're not the most helpful. I've found I need to type the first two words of an item name in their entirety before the correct item is suggested. For instance, typing in 'blue dishwashe' doesn't suggest Blue Dishwasher. This might be a deliberate change rather than a bug, admittedly, but if it is then it certainly isn't working as well as it was before.
I hope this issue is similar enough to add to this post, but I've been noticing issues with the search function too. If I start typing out 'subeau..' etc when searching for 'subeautique invitation' it says 'nothing found' and nothing appears in the drop menu. It seems that unless a full word is typed, it won't predict items anymore? If that's just the new normal here I understand, just not sure if that's a glitch or a permanent change to get used to
I sure hope its not the new normal. Generally when I'm searching for an item, I'm either using the hover or link from quests. For that use I don't need the predictive function at all.
When I do need it, this totally defeats the purpose. When I search a partial name I'm looking to either save time - in which case having to type the whole thing in anyway just makes it useless - or I can't remember how something is spelled or the exact name! Like does the item call itself gold or golden?
So, either I don't need it at all, or I do need it and its completely unhelpful.

I did an experiment to see how ridiculous this is being, and the answer is it's pretty ridiculous.

Not only did I have to fully type out "ornate floral" before Ornate Floral Pitcher was even on the list, but typing out "flora" (even with "ornate" already there) changed the list completely.
In addition, I find the "nothing found" for "orna" and "ornat" really odd when o, or, orn, and ornate all picked up options even when they were just parts of words.
And what is up with the search function immediately thinking that I was intending to spell something by starting with a letter in the middle of a word? I can understand "Orange" after O, but Book, Sword, History, and Downtown make much less sense. Why would I mean "A Guide to Downtown" and start that by typing O?
Glad I'm not the only one! Having to type complete words kinda defeats the purpose, and is super annoying! Sometimes I forget the full name of an item or how "subeautique" (for example) is written so shop search isn't helping anymore.
Typing "50 point wizard" gives the following suggestions: 1 Point Wizard Token 2 Point Wizard Token 5 Point Wizard Token 10 Point Wizard Token 15 Point Wizard Token
AND actually searching for "50 wizard token" leads you to "250 Point Wizard Token"
I mean, why tho?
I was too lazy to make a thread about this again. Yeah, shop search suggestion has been wonky again for a month or so. Needs a lot to be typed in now, befor a fitting suggestion appears. Before no similarity to the existing letters.
Hey all, made a fix for the shop search suggestions on Friday night. Does it seem to be better now? Let me know and I'll pass it along, thank you!

It seems a little better. This time I only had to type out "ornate fl" for ornate floral pitcher to show up on the list.
It's still doing some odd things though, like thinking that I would want "A Guide to Downtown" when I first type in "o".
- Doesn't really seem any better to me, at least the way I use it. I was looking for Cyan Attenuator Goggles, and I used to be able to just put in Cyan Goggles and it would find it. Now I get Nothing found. Same for searching for 'white cake balls', instead of White Chocolate Covered Cake Balls. It doesn't seem to be able to bridge missing words in the middle anymore. And even searching for the latter I had to put in the first 3 words before I got the answer I needed.
Thanks, passed it along!

Hey everyone, I just pushed out another update, but want to give some explanation as well.
Prior to these changes we were using a service to handle all of our search. That meant sending all item changes and updates to that service, and being charged for hosting it there as well. We frequently got out of sync, and also it was really expensive!
We switched to searching directly in our own database. I know that sounds simple, but doing "full text" search is a complicated, and expensive, computing problem. When you're searching for an item in that little dropdown, it has to search all of the items on the site to figure out which one you're starting to type. It should keep a list of those searches so it knows if someone type "nicol richie" it knows they're looking for .
Getting this right is important for bringing back forum search, and getting good search working for all of the other parts of the site.
I just pushed out an update that should 🤞 bring the search up to standard and we can start making improvements on it. Please let me know if you still have issues!

so the changes to the search have made it much nicer to use, but i'm not 100% if this is supposed to happen, or if it means anything?
https://subeta.net/user_shops.php/search/shops/USE+ME
it returns various cws including Raven House Memento, Badger House Memento, Charmeuse Meerkat Overalls, which... is a little strange. oh i'm dumb, those all have "use me" in the name LOL. that particular search suggestion is not very helpful tho! can it be restricted from offering search suggestions that start in the middle of words, or would that cause more problems?
it's also suggesting irrelevant/invalid searches, i think because it's including hidden rarity/r300 items like Neochrome Spork. ex- typing "subeau" gave me two suggestions -- Subeautique Invitation (good), and "Georgiana Subeautique Hair" (useless - i think it might be a staff item?) ex- typing "useless" gives me real items like "Useless Wires," and "Useless Thrust" which is an aboxalypse weapon, iirc.
(also, i know the current pet/user search is a temp thing, but with the change to the search dropdown, it doesn't show all the pets w the same name anymore? like, prior to the change, it would bring you to a separate results page listing everyone's pets, but now it just gives you the legacy pet or whatever. is that intentional?)
Yes, seems like it needs to only search public rarities. I've deployed a temporary fix for this, just to get those out of the search results for now. will be taking a closer look at that later - as well as working on some other improvements like only having it do the search if at least 3 letters are typed in the box. :)

Yes - full text indexing is very difficult. The one you used to pay for was really excellent for what it did, I have to give credit to that. The current one in shop search is fine (if nowhere near as good).
An oddity is that it finds 5 "ornate fan" items if you type "ornate fa" but if you type the "n" all five found items vanish from the list.
Reproduce: go to Shop Search, type this: ornate fa
You'll see White Ornate Fan, Blue Ornate Fan, etc in the listing (five of them in total).
Then type the n so you've now typed: ornate fan
0 items listed now. Odd, isn't it?
My username is not searchable

I found duing a valentine event that the search subeta that some people are not on that list. I am also not on the list. The person I was to send a gift was also not on the serch list. This turned out very badly. I will not depend on this again.
I do not like the new shop Search Function. It only lists 5 items at a time and then I need to head over to the item directory to help me.
The search Subeta isn't working properly. A lot of usernames are not listed and the pet search is wonky too. I type in a pet name and nothing comes up
