Hi everyone :) I'm Poison and I came here after being a neo-addict for years. I got sick of neo after they sold it to a company that seemed to have no interest in it (or it's users) and was so pleased to have found Subeta! Life got a bit busy though about 2 years ago so I stopped playing Subeta. I'm back now though and looking for some help with meeting folks :) I never really used the forums much to chat to people when I was here last, but I'd really like to try and make some friends on here this time and don't know where best to start! (Probably doesn't help that I am incredibly socially awkward and suffer with my mental health at times...)

Good evening Poison! I am Dreamer~ I was on neo a long time ago. I actually stopped using it when I found GaiaOnline and subsequently Subeta (never once looked back!). I, myself, just resurfaced on here (haven't been on in over 9 years, honestly was surprised I could still long in, I thought my account long gone, but alas I got a wild hair up my arse and decided to see if I could login--viola, I was able too). It's nice to meet you! I do so hope we can become friends (I, too, suffer from mental health issues) and I'm not sure where to suggest you start at on the forums. I used to role-play quite a bit, so if they still have a forum for that, that's a good place to meet new friends.

I feel yeah on the socially awkward part. The forums are an okay place to start! There's also the Shoutbox you could try popping in sometime! c: I struggle with mental illness, really affects my social life, so I've been trying a lot harder lately to get better with my social interactions and making friends. Hopefully you can meet some people here! If you ever need anything, feel free to comment/message me, always willing to help. :D

I was a Neo addicted as well, but Subeta is so much better! I remember being warned for using a foreign word, that had a "nono" meaning in english Don't be shy, people here are extremly friendly, helpful and nice! It's luminaire right now (the equivalent to christmas) so there are a lot of nice thread in the lumi forums - check them! If you have any questions, feel free to ping me

Thanks for your kind words - People do seem really nice so far :) Neo will give out warnings for anything! I got sick of being scared that they'd just randomly lock my account and I'd lose everything.

It's very nice to meet you too! 😊 Yes, SUPER lucky! I went through some trials and those trials, I didn't really have access to much. I wanted to log on last year, but I couldn't remember the site name or my info for the longest time. Role-playing is actually quite fun. You get to create new characters, and in a way, you get to become those characters through your writing! So, say you're really shy IRL, but you create a character who happens to be happy-go-lucky, outgoing, etc., it gives you a chance to be someone different and experience personalities different from that which is your own. Start small, then work your way up. And I understand that totally ^.^'

awweehh ;n; i miss neo a lot , but i stopped going on it a year ago as well, i got sad cus everything was changing.. :c it freezes a lot for me as well. I just found subeta a few days ago my friend introduced me heh. you came back at a great time just for lumi! you will get a hang of things eventually, it takes time. it took me a couple hours of game time, but im still lost too heh. I also play gaiaonline !!

welcome back to subeta! I also was/am a long-time Neo player. I kinda only go on neopets right now to check my dailies. All my pets are painted too, and I'm rather invested in them, but I try to not to do too much because I'm afraid they'll freeze me and I'll lose my pets, lol.

ee well thats okii , theres always next Motostide/Halloween ;u; eep, this year a lil sad cus i wont be able to spend it with family, since theres a ban here :c due to the pandemic, but i decorated my house n have present for my lil angel, i named her Rini from sailor moon haha, its cute cus apparently theres a first ever viewing of a christmas star after 800 years ago, so im excited to see that with her C: But yes haha c: im enjoying myself. I already spent most of what i saved on gifts for lumi. broke as hec again hahah square one. ;n;

Yeah, I had the same problem! I logged onto neo yesterday for the first time in ages just to play a few games and I can't them to work on my computer at all anymore. I don't know what they've done to the site but it is not compatible with my PC anymore -_-

I haven't even been doing my dailies anymore. I keep going back hoping that the site will be fixed or better, but it only seems to get worse! All the checks when you view people's pets and profiles also make me worried I'll get frozen too.

Aww, that's rough! Do you live in the U.S.? I've also had to be super careful about seeing family lately. It's been a really long time since I've seen my parents in person... Is it your baby's first Christmas too? That is super cute! Rina is an absolute amazing name. I didn't know that about the Christmas star this year! Yeah, I feel like I'm going to just hoard all the neopoints at this rate. My sister does the same basically, and I think she has accrued about 10 mill NPs cuz she's done painting her pets and all. A lot from just doing dailies and the Stock Market. Also, the games and stuff are really hard to play now. I think it has something to do with the fact that Neopets is really built on the use of Flash, and I think that now coming out of use. So I've had a really hard time trying to game at times. I think they're trying to fix it by having a mobile version of the site? :|

aa ;n; thats soo lame :c I dont like the new changes if its making neo like that, they need to fix that soon. I hope they do so i can come back, but i haven't had the motivation to in awhile so i kinda went on a hiatus. I go on to chat w some close friends, but other then that, i dont do much on it, besides zap my petpets loool. Whenever i can.

Aw why thank ya heh, yes its her first year, im sad we couldnt spend it the way i wanted, but least we still have presents for her under our tree and a stocking, so i mean it's not that bad ❤ c: O no no i live in canada, but i think the rules are different in most states in the US? & i know here in canada rules in some provinces are different, but the province i'm in only has this ban, its so sucky :C Aw yes! the star, im not sure abt the locations and such, but just keep an eye out on Oct 21.

I have also found amazing, life-long friends simply by role-playing (started in Yahoo Chat groups, then found MySpace so role-played through there for years, then I found GaiaOnline and LiveJournal, so I've experienced role-playing through there). I have one main character that I created that I created to be innocent and naïve (because of certain situations, I lost my innocence and had to grow up fast, so never got to really experience that part of myself), while being kind, caring, etc. (traits that I actually have). Having her allowed me to--even if it was through writing--experience things stolen from me. If that makes any sense? But, yes, in the end it definitely lets you explore different sides to yourself that isn't always expressed. ^^ (You are quite welcome! I do so hope they helped~ I had a crap ton of extras and instead of selling all of them for the sP, I figured I'd gift them instead to someone who might not have them and want them. ^//^)

Oh yeah, I noticed all the mobile stuff. I really quite liked the games so I was pretty sad to see they weren't working anymore. I think neo has really struggled with not becoming outdated and they don't seem to invest much in keeping up with the changes in technology, which is really sad.

That actually makes a lot of sense. It sounds like you found a brilliant place to be creative and be different versions of yourself ^.^ I can really relate to that - having to grow up fast and what that takes away from you. A bit of escapism in that way sounds brilliant after the day I've had haha 😅
