SO I've been thinking about this for a while and something came to mind for me today that I figure I'll just come out and share. It's of course regarding battle quests and weekend special quests.
My idea is this:
What if Battle Quests could share the spotlight with the weekend quests? But hear me out, it would NOT been every weekend. What if Reichen popped up one day during the start of weekend quests to chime in about providing a little extra reward for those who wish to do his battle quests... Basically what would happen is each quest would offer double the EXP pay out. Nothing TOO crazy obviously. There could also be a very rare chance for maybe a mage amulet or slightly rare weapon? (Like just between rarity 80-99 again nothing game breaking obviously) Or maybe these quests could offer a unique bonus reward... whatever the BAs/staff which to add.
It just helps motivate people to do their battle quests if they just don't want to do it. AND it will absolutely NOT take away the weekend quests for everyone else since I know a huge majority of people do not battle. I do hope this made sense.
No Support.
Battle Quests are already quite generous. If you find battling here on Subeta fun at all yet don't want to do them; you're just not that into her. Relax.
Why should Subeta, most of whom don't find it interesting per the OP, care if people do/don't do their Battle Quests?
The reasons the rewards for BQs are the way that they are is because battle folk wanted to 'preserve the value' of their weaponry.
I like the idea of having it be the weekend quest but not a fan of the idea of it rewarding double exp. I think a better thing would be to have nice drops on quests 5,10,15,20,25 and 30. The prizes could scale based on the level of difficulty. For example, win 5 could be a super rare item or sP payout while win 25 and 30 could give a battle shop booster or amulet. I think it being a weekend quest will give it more visibility to people that don't really know about battling.
I don't see it being any different from someone not doing another weekend quest. There are certainly some quest givers I don't bother with even when they are the weekend quest
I like this idea because I'm not always motivated to do Battle Quests even though I can always use the exp. A weekend here and there where it gave extra incentive would be nice.
However, I feel the opposite of Wesker - I'd rather have the double exp than rare items. Especially if the items were dependent on getting to certain levels, seeing as how I can't get beyond level 20 atm.
Just going to add an explanation as to why I am against double exp and why I am for scaled prizes.
BQs already give a lot of exp for the level of difficulty. Win 5 on BQ is still an easy opponent and awards 500 exp and 250 exp each for levels 1-4. That's as much exp per level (if not more) than win 10 for medium opponents. To award 1,000 exp for an easy challenger is way too much when stats don't even cost 1,000 points until T8
giving better rewards at higher levels not only rewards you for the hard work you put into training but creates incentive and motivation for you to get past quest 20 or whatever quest you are stuck at
First off, damn , your HA is amazing.
I'm in favor of having some sort of BQ bonus weekend every so often. Once, maybe twice a month perhaps?
I do think the EXP is pretty generous for people who actively do the quests each day, so doubling might be a bit too high. But increased a bit? That could work? Dropping boosters would be really fun at higher levels too! Since there's max of 30 quests a day anyway, you wouldn't have to worry about people farming it with multiple pets or anything. Plus, an extra amulet or two isn't breaking anything.
It would be just a nice treat for battlers, as well as reminding folks that BQs exist.and having it over time might give an incentive to see if you can improve over time. There are definitely weekend quests that I skip, so if this was added to the cycle, it would be a way to appeal to another side of the site while still being accessible to the majority.
I'd support an exp increase going up to 25%, but not much more. Battle Quests already give junk weapons - we don't need more junk weapons (how many r80-r99 weapons are good? Yeah...) and we have Quentin for a healthy amulet supply.
You have good points.
However, how much would extra exp really outbalance training? At T6 going to level 20 every day, I still am only able to get maybe 15 stat points a day? (Only 12 if I went after HP, and soon to be less when I get to T7 but still can't progress past level 20.) That may seem like a lot, but at this level I'm still progressing slowly to the next tier. While higher tiered pets will be able to get more exp going to higher levels, their stat point costs will also rise, so they wouldn't be getting many more stat points either. Same with lower tiered pets: their stat points will cost less, but they also won't be able to progress far with the battle quests.
So if maybe once a month I was able to get 30 points instead of 15, I don't think that it would significantly give me or anyone else an advantage. We'd still have to grind to tier up. But it would be a nice morality boost to be able to cash in all that exp at once for some stats.
OTOH, I'd be willing to compromise with something along the lines of Chocolate's and Sopheroo's ideas of going 125% or 150% vs. a full 200%. That way there's still an increase in exp, but perhaps not too much.
As for rewards at higher levels, I agree that that is a sweet incentive. However, battle quests differ from regular quests in that way. Regular quests have a level playing field: if you can afford the quest items (and it's very easy to afford the quest items), you can complete all the quests. Battle quests are not a level playing field, and it can take users months to get a pet up to a high enough tier to complete them all. So if a bonus battle quest weekend only gave out incentives at higher tiers, I think some who couldn't progress that far would actually see it as a disincentive and not participate for long.
Maybe a good compromise here would be rewards commensurate with their levels? In other words level 5 might get a stat booster that gives out 1-2 stat points total, whereas level 25 might get a stat booster that can give out 1-2 points per stat. Idk - maybe they could even be nontradeable to make sure it doesn't upset the economy. It makes sense to me because then lower tiered pets still have an incentive, but it's an incentive that makes sense for their level.
BQ as they are now already give a lot of exp per day. 26k if you can do all 30 and I believe 11400 for level 20. I recently had pets at tiers T6 go to T7 and one at T7 go to T8, also only able to do up to level 21 and it honestly didn't take that long giving one all the battles until the next tier and then focusing on the next pet.
The main point for me is BQs already give a lot of exp and saying that they give x% more on a bonus weekend is not a good incentive. If people weren't doing them before for the exp, then they still won't do it now. Imo bonus weekend should give visibility to BQs and better prizes for that one weekend.
Your last paragraph is what I was trying to get at with my scalable prizes idea. I'm not saying to award junk until level 25+, I just don't think it should be stat boosters.
[Edit] Yeah it comes out to about 15 stats per day with exp from battle quests alone, depending on what you use it on. That is a lot of free stats per day.
