Just like the tagline says.. I'm a bit overwhelmed. What games do you like? What parts of the site are your favorite? Any tips?
I'm used to neopets (I have an 20 yr old account there) but I wanted to try something new, too.
Welcome to Subeta! It can be overwhelming at times. What helped me was just to explore the site one part at a time. You have joined at a wonderful time! Lumi has started. You can visit Melody each day for items and sP (money). Similar in a way to Neo's Advent Calendar.
You might find yourself hoping back and forth between the sites. I am still on Neo as well. ^__^

One thing I keep telling myself to do (and forgetting, lol) is Shinwa’s Quests. Once a day she’ll have you go around to other quest givers to retrieve 5 pieces of her lost bracelet. As a reward she sometimes gives out items that increase a pet’s stats, which I’d advise as an early player to sell for pure profit cuz you can train your pets super cheap at the Training Center.
2 tips though, for Shinwa make sure you do her quests before anyone else’s cuz she might want you to visit someone whose quests you’ve already completed for the day. Then for Training try not to increase your pet’s Level too quickly in proportion to your other stats. I don’t really know why, I just keep seeing people who know about battling say it hahah
This turned into an essay and I feel like there’s still so much more to say XDD
This is good advice (as is the rest of the post!). The reason why is that the cost and length of time it takes to train is based on the pet's level. So every time the level increases, it costs a little more to train, and takes a little longer.

Welcome to Subeta! When I first started, I focused mainly on my pets and my avatar. There were a few items I really liked for wearables that I saved all my Questing sP towards. Unlike quests on Neopets, with the exception of maybe some rarer or newer items, all quests should be profitable if you do them. I would probably start with Sarah or Wizard, the tokens are a little bit like dubloons and really easy to sell, or can be used on some areas of the site. I sold all mine when I first started just cos I wanted sP to play, but as I had more of the things I wanted I saved them for the Token Shop restocks!
