i’m surprised this isn’t already a feature, but what are some thoughts about introducing a human avatar spotlight similar to the pet spotlight?

we currently have the random HA spotlight, which displays a seemingly random user avatar and is only displayed on the logged-out homepage, for some reason.

i’m thinking a lot of the entry rules could carry over from the pet spotlight (ie. winners go on cooldown, you can submit outfits for nomination, must be nominated by other users, review queues etc.) maybe the nominate link could go underneath your HA in forum posts.

i also think there would need to be 2 separate queues for CW and non-CW entries.

it would be a fun additional way to show off the awesome combinations some people are capable of throwing together with the wardrobe function. thoughts/comments/concerns?

Support - I like anything that makes the site community more interactive, even in as straightforward a way as a HA spotlight.

There is a huge difference between the pet spotlight and this kind of HA spotlight. The pet's profile is unlikely to change once its "spotlight" ready. But if it does change, it gets tossed out of the queue.

An HA however is changed way more often - like in my case, at least daily, sometimes more often! Maybe one day I'm wearing something spectacular that gets nominated, but by 3 months later when staff get around to posting/approving it, its been changed 100 times.

Using the outfit code, or posting/submitting an image means that I could submit an outfit created out of items I don't actually own. Which I don't think is a good idea at all. And if there is some way to confirm if I owned it at the time of submission, what if I subsequently sold most of the items? Does it still "count" as owned items? What about borrowed items?

Do outfits ever get judged? Or are they automatically submitted? What about "risque" HAs?

Do HA really need more attention?

The bulk of items are wearables, we see our avatars in the news, in the forums, Survival and Masquerade REQUIRE an avatar to participate.

The pet spotlight is one of the rare things that's pet-oriented, and I'd be completely crushed if it's overshadowed by yet-another-avatar thing.

a curated (but still rotating/random) HA spotlight could maybe be created using liked HAs in the system, maybe? but i'd honestly prefer another pet oriented feature over an HA spotlight that has chosen winners.
