I've spent an embarrassingly long amount of time on revamping my profile, and I'd love some feedback.

I'm not really looking for advice, but I would love opinions. What you like about it, what you don't like about it. Anything that looks wonky on your screen or that is confusing.

Thanks! :)

I'm not sure if I'm the type of user you had in mind when you asked for input (since I don't invest any time in customizing profiles for my pets or myself) but it was something I used to do years ago when I had more time.

It seems like you take great pride in your username and creating worlds and characters for your pets and it's obvious immediately that you've done a really great job of conveying that with your profile. Compared to other profiles I've seen where most of the page looks empty except for a tiny little box that you have to scroll in forever, I like your layout a lot better because it's easier to see and navigate through. Very user friendly. It displays perfectly on my screen (I'm using Chrome). The notes and goals on the right hand side are clean and easy to browse through. You've put an incredible wealth of information on your profile but it's not displayed in a crowded way like I've seen with some other profiles. I can click through and read what I want without the page ever feeling overwhelmed.

The most obvious neat little trick I like about your profile is how the links on the left hand side of the screen turn into open books when you hover over them. Also, the little detail of the names of your pets changing with a gradient color scheme when you hover over it is also very pleasing. So yes, the layout is fantastic but those little details really add charm to it. :)

No negative feedback from me, but like I said, I may not be the person you were looking for when you requested opinions.

Thank you for your detailed review! You obviously took the time to check out my profile, and I really appreciate your thoughtful feedback.

I'm seeking the feedback of any user on Subeta, which is why I put this thread in General Discussions rather than in the Profiles & Graphics Discussion subforum. So you're the perfect person to respond. :)

The book flipping is one of my favorite parts too. The gradient colors aren't behaving quite like I want them too yet (they're supposed to show a full rainbow), but I'll figure out why eventually. ^_^

looks great.

My very first impression was that it seemed a little "busy." But as I browsed and looked further it all fell into place and seemed perfectly organized and not nearly as busy as my first impression.

I do want more though! Maybe its because I didn't dive in deep enough, but I don't understand the numbers under pet names, I just found that confusing. I'd also love to see a synopsis of your world - am I correct in assuming that your pets are all in the same world and sections you've split your pets into are towns/areas/symbolism of that world?

Your profile makes me want to know more!

Thanks for the feedback! I suppose I could make it look a little less busy if I got rid of the borders around the pet sections. However, I spent a long time painstakingly picking out the right items and then making sure they were ordered correctly, and I like the effect, so I'll trade off a little busy-ness for that. ^_^

The numbers under each name are birthdates. This is mostly a reminder for myself so that I don't accidentally adopt another pet with a birthdate I already have. (The Alltumn section is kind of a hot mess now because of all the pets I'm missing, but that's another matter.) Everyone except the Puzyrek citizens are born in October, so their birthdates go YYDD. The Puzyrekians have the full MMDDYY birthdates.

Likewise the asterisks next to certain pet names are a reminder to me of which pets currently have legacy names, because I plan on incorporating that into my lore in a certain way. Pets with a double asterisk have a different actual name from their legacy name.

As for my worldbuilding, it's kind of a half-written mess inside my head at the moment. The notes on my profile are reminders to me and hints to anyone else that will be fleshed out eventually. I'm hoping to have a ton of time in December/January for worldbuilding and character building. :)

[Edit]Forgot to answer: yes, the sections do basically correspond to physical sections of the fantasy world. Stari is a continent in the Grianene Hemisphere, on which are Alltumn and The Library (where most of my Stari pets live). Iarkii is a continent on the other side, in the Ainian Hemisphere. Puzyrek is a bubble universe that was created by accident when the sun and moon got into a fight, and the myths and legends section are the mythology of the people of this world.

Yeah, I think it is the borders that make it look a little busy, but I agree, they are lovely and I wouldn't want to get rid of them either :D.

Ah...the numbers make sense now!

Looking forward to reading more about your world when you have time to flesh it out!
