I think it's time to finally do away with treasure chest items being deleted when pets are put into the pound. That's it, that's the thread, do as I demand.

Honestly, it just seems like an outdated waste at this point. Instead, items can be placed in the users inventory and/or just be transferred with the pet. Users already sometimes dump their pets in the pound not realizing items are deleted despite the bold warning. Speaking of Abandoning a pet deletes all the items attached to that pet It doesn't delete the minion, so this is a BOLD FACED LIE.

Perhaps the singular button can be split between two buttons "Abandon Pet With Treasure Chest" and "Abandon and Remove Treasure Chest" where items are transferred. Or just automatically dump the items into our inventory.

I, personally, like the idea of sending a TC over. But I understand that there are some possible "Fuckery is afoot" moments that could come along with that.

I support this post with minor confusion that I didn't know after 14 years it was a thing, but what.

Wasn't this a thing waaaaay back when and then they changed it to having the items deleted because people would just adopt the pet, wipe the TC then throw the pet back? Or am I wrong? (Wouldn't be the first time.)

I support items in the TC being put into a person's inventory when the pet is abandoned. It seems a bit harsh that they're just deleted - even with the warning it's easy to forget if your pet has something in the TC or not.

I don't support the items remaining in the TC when a pet is abandoned. Like said, that invites people to use the pets more or less like pack mules to scavenge off of.

When you transfer a pet instead of abandoning them, the TC comes with them, so if you really want the TC to go to another user, you can go that route instead.

I think you're right in that. Though, how often and how worth it is it to actually do that. I doubt many people are dumping pets with TCs filled with hyper-expensive items. But it is a good reason to avoid it, and would support/understand if that were the choice.

Listen. Sometimes I am impatient and wouldn't mind dumping, say, Cream Puff, with their TC. It's not big or expensive, just fitting. ;) But seriously, like I said above, fully support just putting the stuff into inventories to hopefully deter people from doing that.

I would support this...except I have a pet with a TC of 580 items, and it used to be bigger until I transferred spots to other pets. Dumping that many items in one's inventory all at once is just asking for glitches because the inventory is glitchy.

I still think there should be a mass remove option, which I even made a thread for some time ago. So then when people want to abandon pets, it's easier for them to remove everything instead of having to do it one by one.

Maybe remove it in batches of 30 items at once to prevent glitches? I dunno, just throwing things at the board here.

Combining these two could be a good option (mass remove combined with limits). Mass remove, but only of say 100 or so items at a time. Limiting inventory dumps works better in a mass removal system than in the process of abandoning a pet, I would think.

Could add a link to the abandon pet page to the mass TC remove page if it ever became a thing.

Deleting the items is such a waste, I agree they should either be removed to the users inventory/vault eith a notice, or go with the pet. I never see pets being dumped in mass amounts now we can rename them so, why not just let people leave the tc if they want?

Thank you to all my friends for being there =)
