an idea just popped into my mind:
for this year (or future) fireside events, what if there was a way to turn one of your existing glade pets into the harvest version of that pet.
I was thinking it could go something like this: (perhaps this could be unlocked by collecting a certain amount of floating rreign items, or perhaps simply an sP cost.)

If they are a glade pet:

thoughts?
Great idea, that might even out the price between glade and harvest potions a bit. Besides I think fireside needs a little shaking up anyways.
I've often thought that tossing a glade pet into the bonfire should work just like tossing a glade potion in. Now that the Rift is a thing, I think it's even more plausible.
I'm not sure if just sitting by the fire makes sense lore-wise, because with everything else that gets transformed, it has to go into the fire. Maybe tossing your pet in is a bit too violent, but perhaps it could be a test of stamina or a dare that the pet walk through the flames?
If that is so, then perhaps pets who aren't glade have a small chance of getting something out of it too, either a small stat increase or the chance of finding an item in the flames or something like that.
that’s a good point about sitting by the fire. i was thinking the prolonged exposure to the flames would be enough to simply “singe” the glade leaves to turn them the harvest shade. but the dare idea is also great. and i agree with the addition of non-glade pets potentially getting some benefit too.
It would be more convenient than having to make a Glade Potion and then turn it into a Harvest Potion when your pet is already Glade. There should probably be a warning about it changing your pet, though, because Glade does still take effort to get, and I don't know if they could include it this year now, but maybe they could do it next year.
There's a tradition around Beltane (which is earlier in the year I know, but still) where, to quote Wikipedia, "people and their cattle would walk around or between bonfires, and sometimes leap over the flames or embers" as a cleansing ritual. Fireside is a cleansing ritual for the Red Rreign's past behaviour. Maybe a pet could leap over the bonfire in the same way, changing themselves from Glade to Harvest. Or maybe that's a stretch. I dunno.
I'm not sure I actually like that. We already have a color that's just "YEET YOUR PET INTO SOMETHING" and I think I like the current way better.
Yes, it means that Harvest Potions are less readily available, but maybe they should just be added somewhere outside of Fireside?
Or there could be a rare, alternate way to get them. Finding a way to make Harvest Potions possible outside of Fireside should be the way to go, not going "lol pet goes in the fire brrrrr"

Its not like making any pet a harvest pet, it would just apply to the glade pet.

I think this is a pretty cool idea, and such a fun way to change your pet.

Qualified support.
I think it's intentional that Harvest be a more rare color, and there's nothing wrong with some users having the fun owning a pet that they know has a rare color. Galactic used to be like that. It's not that hard to set your alarm to go to Peka, and the sP needed to get a Glade Potion is not too expensive considering a day's worth of questing will get you one quarter of the cost of buying it from another user. If you pay that much/go to that much effort it really seems like "a thing" to risk chucking it into the fire.
This could be a rare alternative way to get Harvest, in that there could be a limit to once per day, or only if the Red Rreign kisses you and you and your pet celebrate by dancing in the fire, and then only a chance to make the pet Harvest. There could be a "do you and PET dance, who knows what will happen if you do?" warning. This would also require some effort to get, and unlike YEET there's no guarantee that it would work for anythign other than getting an extra piece of pie, a retired Fireside item that needs re-releasing, or a small stat boost or something..
I like this idea, I think having your pet go through the flames would be a cool. I mean, lore wise, it seems less dangerous than the Rift LMAO. Labeling it as a cleansing tradition would be fun. I don't really care if it's a rare chance of it happening to your glade pet or promised like the Rift, it just seems like a cool idea in general and I'm game for it regardless of how it is implemented, if it was to be.
I love this idea for the imagery of chilling next to the bonfire with your pet tbh. It's also a creative, lore-involved way to create additional opportunities to get a hard-to-achieve pet color.
I do like the idea of having the rreign's kisses affect the chances of getting to turn your pet harvest. In that sense, it might remain fairly balanced even if getting turned harvest was possible for pets who aren't already glade. Maybe the more kisses you get, the more likely you are to get the opportunity to dance by the bonfire or something.
Pretty much every color on Subeta can be gotten another way (particularly with the existence of the Miracle Potion, tho it's rarely worth the cost as an item), and most ways don't directly include the lore connected to that color. (Meaning, if you get a dark matter pet from the zapper, it's not because Maleria cursed the zapper or something. And of course, that's assuming there actually is lore, of course.) I'm always fond of ways to make site lore more engaging and interactive, so I support this idea.
I think this is a cute idea, if it only applies to Glade pets. Like maybe "As you sit by the fire the Red Rreign blesses your pet" or whatever.
Maybe if they aren't a glade pet your pet is just fed and made happy, lol. Once per a day type thing.
I don't care one way or the other if it transforms your pet, but I just want to sit by the fire with my pet now.
I had this same idea of directly converting a glade pet into a harvest one, but in my mind it was akin to how to get the harvest potion.. just throwin your pet in there lmao. The idea in the OP is much more eloquent (as well as cute and cozy), as is the other suggestion of jumping over the bonfire in cleansing.
