One thing that could facilitate inclusivity on the site and make it easier to interact respectfully with other users is to include a line in the hover box where people can list what pronouns they use. Pronouns could go right under the username in smaller italics or something. Ideally, it would be form-fillable to accommodate people who may use multiple pronoun sets, or more uncommon pronouns (e.g. xe, hir).

I'd emphasize that this should be optional for trans users who aren't ready to come out yet, but still don't want to see the wrong pronouns attached to their username. Or, for people who just prefer not to list pronouns period for any number of valid reasons.

As long as it's an option, sure - I personally don't want my pronouns in the hover bar, but I can absolutely see why people would want it.

Really, filling the gender option is not mandatory, so I'm pretty sure a pronoun section would also be optional to fill so, why not?

I agree with this 100%. As long as it's optional I'd be down.

The comments on this being forced sadden me. Not gonna lie.

But that being said, yes, but optional. Because some people aren't to that point and may never be and that's okay.

I’m not seeing any comments about this being forced? maybe I just misunderstood your meaning.

I don't know if I'd bother using it (it doesn't worry me that much when people get my pronoun wrong, simply because "Paddy" is typical a male name), but I can see how it'd be useful for others, so yeah I support this :)

This would be lovely. I usually resort to they/them for anyone I don't know because the idea of misgendering someone, even unintentionally makes me so anxious. ((This anxiety is specifically because I worry me using the wrong one might hurt someone, especially if they're already having a bad day, and that gives me so many knots in my stomach.)) Being able to see these preferred pronouns would be nice so I could use what people wanted :) (and of course, still use they/them for people I don't know or don't supply preferences just in case!)

This sounds like a cool idea, as long as it was optional in case someone didn’t want to include pronouns they preferred.

I am dead set against this because I prefer to think of you all as ungendered robots.

Kidding. But on a serious note, I can't think of a reason why someone wouldn't want it. If you don't want to use it, you don't have to, but if you do want to use it, it's nice to have the option.

And it would save those of us who don't want to misgender a person the frustration of stalking a person's profile and forum posts to see if they dropped any hints. ^_^;

I honestly do not see why such a thing would be necessary. This is not a dating site. Why should "which pronouns you prefer" be an issue? Sorry, but no support for this particular notion.
