Hi I'd like to suggest being able organizing galleries by numbering the items on the edit page (since the old threads are gone or would be a necro post)
Once upon a time there was a way to sort items by numbering them in galleries (or was that another site?) Like if you had 100 items you could change where they were placed (item labelled 1 would be at top, 100 at bottom, etc)
So like, If I wanted to organize all my peanut butter gallery items in one spot i could number them one through 30 (not that I have one of those collections but as an example) and poof all of them even with weird names would be at the top, and like in the same gallery, I could have toothpaste items in spots 30-60. and say I got a new peanut butter item i could just swap one of the numbers and boom it'd be together with the others. You cant currently really organize items that have different types or release times correctly because with the site adding new colors/different types of items they dont always group together. Like it would be super awesome to have the items displayed together without having to hide them in categories. ^^
Onto that...Frankly it feels like no one (or very few people) clicks the categories 'tabs' inside a gallery because they are plain text and frankly cluttery/run on looking? Its hard for me to even focus when i look at a gallery with 15 text tags ( which i know mine does bc...well. see above)
Could we perhaps have a few preset "button" themes, to 'add text to' ,to make the categories more appealing to click? Something simple like a button background "confetti theme" or galaxy theme" where its just a little button it overlays your own text onto?
I know that seems asking a lot but I've wished for themes for galleries for ages...this wouldnt be as intensive as a full overhaul and lets face it not many users want to sit and code css for the shop when custom css a is a pain (to me anyway as I dont actively have time to code it) and users who dont wish to code cant access it period to just add custom css as its been suggested before. Im sure theres lots more suggestions people have for customizing galleries but I think these might not be too bad to implement? I could be wrong, but, theres hope it can start a discussion at least. I know bug has been slamming out that new space age code with keith and others, maybe its a good time to ask? lol <3 thanks for reading my text wall
I would love to see more attention paid to galleries.
I really want more sorting options. Drag and drop, perhaps, like TCs? A number system like you mention, of some kind, but easy to slip a new item into an old grouping.
I'd like to see some official gallery page where we can put them out there so people could actually visit them. People have tried creating threads, but they just eventually sink and disappear. I've spent a lot of time, sP, CSC and effort on my gallery and while I do it just because I find it fun, it would add to the 'value' to be able to showcase it!
Love the idea of prettier buttons to encourage people to click the categories.
There's so much that could be done, but the whole gallery system seems to be nearly completely ignored. Staff want us to use TCs to highlight our items, but that only works for small, compact galleries and showing it off means showing off the pet, not the items.
