Title basically. I've been considering buying it (even though I'm not a huge fan of swsh as it lol)

Personally, I'm having LOADS of fun with the new content from the DLCs, but I always find ways to have fun on Pokémon games lol. (I've played every single version since Yellow in 1998...) I'm a shiny hunter, and while I'm not crazy about the shiny hunting methods we've been given for this generation, I'm still enjoying myself. I'm especially enjoying the Crown Tundra since it's added a lot of overworld spawns that were previously very low chance grass encounters which has brought my shiny hunting game ahead several steps (I am SO GLAD I don't have masuda method for these particular 'mon anymore). There's also a new feature in the Crown Tundra called Dynamax Adventures which gives you access to basically every legendary Pokémon since gen 1, and has a much higher than usual shiny chance. It's also pretty fun just as a challenge with the way it's set up. This is just the way I have fun, though, so if you're not really into shiny hunting or doing Dynamax raids then I don't know what to tell you, but hopefully this helps! Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you for your input! I'm personally a huge shiny hunter as well and it helps a lot to hear that it makes it a bit easier for certain pokemon, though I'm also not super fond of the methods from this gen. :)

I play Shield version and I was really not looking forward to using Masuda method to shiny hunt Eiscue lol. I prefer the murder method (it's better than nothing, I guess) and Crown Tundra has an area where there are overworld Eiscue everywhere!!! That's a huge step up from the 2% grass encounter rate on route 10 lol. 😆 There's also an area with overworld Sinistea, which is where I'm currently hunting and it's been way faster than Glimwood Tangle! The Dynamax Adventures are a lot of fun too! It's basically a 4-stage Dynamax raid where you're guaranteed to encounter legendary Pokémon. It's challenging because you have to choose from a random pool of rental Pokémon instead of your own, and then you get to choose a route to take through a giant lair to get to the legendary. The best thing about Dynaventures is the 100% Catch Rate!! There's also a flat shiny rate of 1 in 300 (or 1 in 100 with the shiny charm) which is HUGE! The main downside is that you only get to pick 1 of the Pokémon that you catch in there to keep. Fortunately, if you don't choose the legendary, you can "save" it's location and challenge it again and again to shiny hunt it! But as soon as you select that legendary to keep, it doesn't appear anymore, so choose carefully! (You can save up to 3 legendaries to challenge over and over again, or select "Anything is fine" to get a random legend.) Dynaventures is also the first place that some legends are available as shiny outside of events; I'm shiny hunting the Tapus because I missed the event shinies. xD

I think it's safe to say that I'm enjoying the Crown Tundra quite a bit more than I enjoyed the Isle of Armor LOL. Isle of Armor is fun too, but there's not a lot that's new to do there outside of the storyline and a few random side quests. Both areas are open world just like the Wild Area, so they're pretty and fun to explore at least! (BEWARE THE SHARPEDO IN THE WATER AAAAAA)

I would be happy to babble at you more if you're interested lmao, thank you for reading my mini novel on the DLCs. 😆

i agree, crown tundra is very inclined towards shiny hunting so that's what i've enjoyed about it so far! lots of static&roaming new legend encounters and dynamax adventures that have a huge shiny rate up, especially with shiny charm as was mentioned! i haven't beaten either expansion, but there feels like much more to do in crown tundra than isle of armor. it is definitely more of that "endgame" feeling that those third games in past generations have brought.
