Just gonna ask... how valuable/hard to get are circa 2006 pets? All my pets were circa 2006 until I came back to the game a week ago and now I find the newer dates on my newer pets to be glaring at me >_>;
Honestly, they are pretty rare. A lot of them got purged when accounts went inactive in the years before name clearings became a thing, when inactive accounts were deleted after a full year of not being logged into. Sometimes someone will offer one for adoption but I can't remember the last time I saw one.

That's.... I'm kinda shocked I didn't get grabbed in the account deletions then. There was a good span of about 5 to 6 years I didn't log in, so.... wow. That's... really upsetting to be honest, that all those accounts were purged.
I can't remember just when the account deletions stopped, but if your account was spared then it probably stopped before you went inactive. I want to say they stopped doing it around eight or nine years ago. The accounts were deleted to free up server space back when the site was much smaller.

I only have one pet from 06 and I found her in the pound around the time I joined. I would say that finding pets from that year are rare. I think there's a ping group you can join to be notified when there are low ID pets UFA if you want to find some.
Apparently I have like 10 2006 pets, all adopted from other users. My oldest was born Jan 4th 2006 with an ID of 122840, My newest from 2006 is November 19 2006 with an ID of 275311. I'd say that year had ids around 120k-300k, I'd argue a lot of those numbers don't exist anymore and a lot of them might belong to people like me that adopted and play the game 14 years later. Back when IDs were around 1mil, typically I'd say anything under 250k was rare, then when it hit 3mil, anything under 500k seemed rare. Now you'd be lucky to find a pet under 1mil.
They are rare but not impossible to get. I am super nostalgic over old pets and have adopted a few over the years. I've also gotten lucky, random pound grabs! so if it's something you're interested in you can definitely still find 'em if you have patience
As a long time low ID collector, they are extremely rare. And when one is up for adoption you are competing with users who often have tons of spotlight pets with like every pet a custom profile, story, art, and curated treasure chest. Honestly, it's often intimidating to compete with these types of users, even for me. Kudos to them, I'm not hating. Often you gotta really work that much harder and hope that your idea just speaks to them or sometimes if you're lucky just be there first to apply. I would advise you stalk the adoption center for eternity and hope you get lucky.
It's not as hard to find or adopt ID's in the 650-999k range. And for me, anything under a mil is acceptable.
Try to develop characters and ideas for your pets. If you develop a connection to them you will less likely look at the ones that don't fit that ID range with distaste. I have multiple pets that aren't in my "preferred" ID range such as Donkey and Smother. I have developed ideas and characters for them that make them just as valuable as my others.

Ive never thought about pet birthdays (beyond month/date, years never concerned me) but this made me curious! my account was made in 2011 and i only have one pet from my first year, the rest are 2013 and 2020.
and my 2011 boys id is in the 900k range. neat! :)
I have about seven 2006 pets. Tell me why pinging/ID is worth sP/has value? Can my 2006 pet do anything "special?" One from 2007, seven from 2009 and five from 2010. My newest four are 10 years apart. What does low ID do? My pets are worthless in terms of stats lol
Pets do not have an sP/CSC (or any other currency value). Pets cannot be traded for currency, items, or other pets, either on this site or anywhere else.
The "value" in certain IDs, birthdates and legacy names is purely a point of pride and related to their rarity. Older pets are harder to get because of a variety of factors (we couldn't own many pets back in the day, some were purged when accounts were cleared, and many are sitting on accounts of users who don't want to give them up). If you give up pets with older IDs and later decide that that is something you value, you will have a hard time replacing them. Occasionally someone will put one in the pound or put one up for adoption, but this is rare and usually has a lot of competition. Legacy names are a newer concept but basically the same, and as time goes on they will become rarer as well.
People also value them for their meaning or personal significance. For example, I like pets with October birthdays and with IDs that are palindromes or have certain patterns.
Ah, Okay. I could understand wanting to own one under 100K, or a pet with a very old, common name. I have a couple below 250K. I guess the things I put the most value in are Sheetas, Keepsake Boxes, Miracle Potions and Pet Slots. GIMME ALL THE SLOTS.
I hadn't realized that low IDs were sought-after--I got curious and looked at my pets' IDs, and one of them has the ID 11309. :O (And it's his birthday today lol.) He was given to me by a friend a lonnng time ago, by someone who joined Subeta well before me, and he's gone through tons of changes lol.
All but one of my pets have legacy names, Lol.
It feel weird to be such a part of Subetan history in that way.
I'm wanting to adopt a pet with a weird legacy name just for giggles.
I put money into pet slots as well. Though I've dropped off recently since I haven't been as inspired on the site like in the old days.....
