I think the same happened to me, but I don't always pay attention to the person's username, and I don't remember who I have on my blocklist. But one particular username happened to stand out, and when I checked, they were a user I'd blocked. This was early in Morostide so I couldn't remember who it was off the top of my head.

For some reason, you can also purchase from a blocked user's shop too. I don't think that's how the blocking should work but that's me.

This has happened to me a few times before. It's what put me off using random TOT last year, I thought this year it would be fixed but apparently not.

Look at it this way. They might be the only person or people that has what you need when doing certain quests. I don't block people because it's a game. If they've done something that bad why not just make a ticket and move on with life?

the reason people block others is not up to you to comment on or shame, some people just make others uncomfortable and theres nothing wrong with tailoring your experience so you dont encounter them!

on topic, i def think that you shouldn't be able to ToT at a blocked person's house especially if something mutually happened. i'm not sure if it would be difficult to code it that way? idk, i certainly wouldnt want to show up as the 5th trick or treater at someone who blocked me's house and vice versa

Why or why not people block other users isn't really the issue here, it's that the block function should be fairly comprehensive in scope. ToTing is probably one of the least concerning ways of interacting with someone on the site, but it does show some flaws in the system.

Though for the most part, I've been pretty happy with Subeta's block system. It works for the most personal types of interactions, like comments and forum posts and so on. Getting to ToT from someone I've blocked or vice versa doesn't bother me all that much, personally, but I can understand why it would matter a lot to users.

There have been some really ugly harassment cases on Subeta before, and it's icky that a random option would allow that.
