Hi everyone, just a quick question. What is the benefit out reading books to the pets? Is there some type of achievement? Reason I'm asking is because I have an item that is worth a couple mill and just not sure if I should sit on it to sell, or read it to my pet. I'm not in desperate need of sP just trying to make the right choice! thanks in advance!

The main reason to read to your pets is to increase their AP (alchemy points). This allows you to equip more and better scrolls while battling.

The jobs pets get will often require certain a certain intelligence to move up and get promoted as well.

Honestly, if neither of those things is your cup of tea, absolutely sell it!

There is a reading high score table, so if you want to get on that you're going to need at least one copy of every book you can get your hands on read to the same pet.

If that's your only copy, you may want to use it. If your reader pet has already read a copy and you don't anticipate needing it for your other pets (either for battling or working, as the other user mentioned above), feel free to sell it!

the "bookworm" achievement has multiple tiers up to 1400 books, with four of the tiers offering rewards: two books, and two forum titles.

aside from that, books increase your pet's intelligence, which can be useful for getting job agency promotions if you want your pet to have a specific job, or AP for equipping scrolls if your pet battles.

unless you're really running out of books that your pet hasn't read, i'd suggest just selling it.

There are some Achievements for having read certain books to your pets. Whether the book you have is one of them or not you'd have to look through them all or go to Subetalodge and look at the notes on your specific book.

There are some other things to keep in mind as to the value of your book, since you don't tell us which one it is.

Keep in mind is if its a new Trick or Treat or Pumpkin Patch Book, it may become a little bit cheaper next year when it gets re-released, but the price will go up over the year between now and then. If it gets added to Carnival Games, and we players don't know if it will, it will have year round availablitiy and the price may drop a lot though.

If you got it from defeating the current batch of Morostide Challengers in the Battle Coliseum then if the challenger is an easy one to defeat the price will drop a lot next year (This year I am reading all the new easy challenger books to my pets, but I won't be doing that next year when I will have thirty five extras all of a sudden).
