This has been a problem for a long time now. I've put up with it because I know there's a lot more pressing things around the site going on, and I wanted efforts focused on them. But 'aah!' I can't really take it anymore. I know it's not just me because has had the same problem.

The 'Delete All' button above the different sections on the events page do Not work. I have tried. Many times. Normally, I'll just deal and delete one-at-a-time, mindlessly. But during an event? I have over 550 Events! Please, please somebody fix this one tiny little button. I find myself missing things because there is SO MUCH. Talking to Eitleoidhme, she would like the feature of being able to turn off certain event things. Me personally? I don't care at this time. I just want the button fixed. PLEASE.

For me it would be the 'Clear All' button that only clears one event at a time instead of the entire section. That is really frustrating. I do tend to have quite a few events at one time. But even when I am close 100 events or less the 'Clear All' button only clears one event at a time.

As said it would be wonderful if there was an option to opt out of certain events in the sidebar. She was thinking specific ones I was thinking more like entire sections but either way it would be useful. (Would it potentially lighten the server load?)

Another problem with being overwhelmed by events especially during an event like Morostide is that for whatever reason if I have too many events my events won't show the newest events in the sidebar. I can't say for certain how many is too many but somewhere between 120 and 200 I think.

Nah nah Sis.. My 'clear all' button doesn't even clear ONE. I counted and checked times. As for what shows on the side for me, I can only see 100 events on the side bar. After that, I have to scroll down and go to the events page. I have no idea if there is a limit on that page as far as viewing. Right now, there's too much to be able to tell if I'm missing something.

The most current event will show up at the top of my events page but not on my sidebar. But with an event like Morostide where you get many events in just a few minutes it makes it very easy to miss important ones.

Haven't tried Delete All, but can confirm that the 'Clear All' button for sections on the events page doesn't work:

Deleting one event at a time via that page does, but that reorders the sections according to most recent event so that trying to delete things even one at a time is a pain.

(Delete all via the sidebar is still possible, but the functionality is limited if wanting to keep certain groups of event notifications, since the sidebar only shows the oldest 100 notifications at a time.)

What browser are you using, because the Delete All button on the sections works for me. I usually am on Chrome when using Subeta. I have the opposite problem where sometimes I accidentally click that button and there is no way for me to see what was deleted :(

Thanks for following up. I can't test if things have changed, not enough events right now.

IIRC mass delete button always worked fine from the normal sidebar, the events page is what was (is?) broken. I had to delete them one at a time in the end.

For more context, the issue is that the sidebar will fill up with things you don't want to delete all at once (forum mentions), so you go to the events page to see the rest (holiday event stuff), and then have to do it manually. This gets worse as time passes because new things are shown in the sidebar, but old things are the ones you want to clear out with one click.

Gotcha - so it's just the single event that doesn't delete - but only when you have a ton of events, right? Does it "go away" but then show up again, or does clicking delete do nothing at all?

Not quite, this is getting confusing so here's a full rundown, I managed to set some alerts and get above 100 events again for testing.

Events.php page:

• "Delete" button works, for deleting events one-by-one.
• "Clear All" button does not work, it should delete all events of the given category.
• "Delete All" unknown. I don't want to delete all events of all categories right now so can't test it.

Site sidebar:

• Single event deletion works fine
• Event category deletion works fine

So that Clear All button on the events.php page is the bug.

The problem it's causing for people is when you have a ton of holiday-related events, they get old and drop off the sidebar. Then they can only be deleted from the events.php page, but you have to do it one-by-one.

right now i have 230 events.

i have forum mentions, forum group mentions, other events, potion lottery, profile comments, news mentions, boxed gifts, achievements, an alert (zapper), a trade offer accepted, a sticker stuck, and mail.

"clear all" for an event category on subeta.net/events.php#/home worked on category other (cw shop updates, buff expiries, etc), but only deleted the oldest five events. a second click on "clear all" for "other" deleted the next oldest event. any further clicks did not work.

"clear all" also worked on the category "alert" for my zapper alert (only one alert in the category)

at this point i realized all of the deleted events were the oldest ones/what i could see on my sidebar

i have 6 profile comments, but only one shows up on my sidebar (comment from iciness, 2021-09-09 00:16:26) "clear all" removes only the comment from iciness.

assumption: clear all is acting like the sidebar garbage can delete icon, and is only deleting events from the first 100 events displayed on the sidebar

event category "Trade Offer Accepted" (only one alert) was not previously visible on my sidebar and "clear all" did not work for it. it is now visible on my side bar, and "clear all" deleted the event. 221 events.

all my categories with more than one event on the sidebar are things i want to look at eventually (my newest event displayed is from 9/15), so i'm not testing this any further, but i did try to "clear all" all my potion lotto events from yesterday (9/20) and it doesn't work for those (56 events)

@ Reya join a few cw forum groups and you'll have all the events you need in a week! i was at 90 for like two days and now i'm back to 110 :') jokes aside i hope it helps! it definitely wasn't a one-off error, i just tried it again. my main shop discount buffs were not on my sidebar and "clear all" didn't work for the category until i deleted enough other events for the oldest one to get to the sidebar (and that was the only one deleted from the category).
