Hey, y'all! I just wanted to see if anyone else had discovered Bailey Sarian? She is a makeup artist online that does a True Crime segment on Mondays. I haven't watched many makeup artists before, but Bailey's storytelling and personality have me hooked! I tune in daily now even for her general videos just cause I think she's funny, so I thought I would come and see if anyone else is watching her~❤️
I'm literally sitting here doing my quest dailies, with Bailey playing in the background, telling me all the "allegedly" suspish deets about Jolly Jane atm. I had to comment! I adore Bailey, lol. I found her on FB and am utterly hooked on her youtube channel. I have been binging for over a week now, I don't know what I'm going to do when I have to start waiting for Mondays!
So happy I'm not the only one! <3
Haha, "allegedly" suspish deets, that's perfect! I love listening to her, it's like having a close friend tell a creepy story as I type away at my desk during the day. :) And same here, FB suggested her and then I moved over to Youtube for her longer, less censored videos. I love how down to earth she is, I watched her "Bailey Does" videos for fun and the wine & the etiquette ones had me rolling! So glad to hear someone else is binging her content! ❤️
Agreed! I don't know if I could handle her while I'm at work, only because I'd be gigglesnorting at incredibly inopportune times! I definitely look forward to binging Bailey, theme song and all, after work. I haven't delved into her non-Murder, Mystery & Makeup Mondays, but I will once I've gotten through them. She really makes it personable and entertaining. I do enjoy true crime, but SOOO much more when she's telling the story. She's got a way that is just her and awesome! Her nervous laugh when it's not funny, or speechless flabberghasty, it speaks to my soul!
Haha, I definitely admit that less work gets done while Bailey is talking! I can't help it tho, a decent percentage of laughs come almost directly from her hilarious facial expressions, " speechless flabberghasty" as you so perfectly said, and she is just so captivating~ My husband has absolutely caught me doing her theme song while diddyboppin around the house, but I have no shame. That thing is catchy! I got my sibling and their roommates hooked on her too, I want the world to know about Bailey! She mentioned a spooky podcast she likes in one of her videos, I wanna check that out too. ❤️
P.S. Bailey often gushes over this mascara, Lash Princess, and so I finally broke down and got it to try. I don't wear makeup that often, but it's only $5 at CVS, so I thought why not? And I have to say that it is amazing! I got the purple one with the curved wand and I absolutely love it. Just thought I would mention. :)
(Hubs is the same, humming her theme song randomly throughout the day without even realizing it - getting it stuck in my head, hehe - he'd never admit it, tho)
I must admit (and although it sounds like I'm ashamed, I am anything but) I am a HUGE makeup geek. I like to say I collect more normal things like voodoo dolls, Tarot cards, oil lamps, unicorns, Spinosaurus/Plesiosaur fossils and TNBC merch, but in all honesty makeup is my true obsession. I have makeup everywhere - I have a real problem, lol. I haven't heard about Essence Lash Princess (as I haven't watched Bailey's GRWM makeup tuts), but now that I have I will def check it out! Tysm for the recommendation! And the spooky podcast, too. Do you happen to remember the name? Spooky is right up my alley!
When I was working in the real world (before the crazy but after the invention of wireless earbuds) I would listen to Real Ghost Stories Online. If you haven't heard about this, and you like spooky/touching stories about the general public's paranormal experiences, you should check it out. It's like a radio show where callers call in and record their ghost stories, and the host and his wife playback recordings and then talk about the stories in Radio Show fashion. They have them all up on their youtube channel. There's some really creepy stories. And some touching ones, sometimes it's nice to have a happy ending of goodbyes!
Whatever brings you joy should be celebrated, all those things are cool! ❤️ I would be more into makeup, but I'm so lazy that I rarely can motivate myself to doll up, haha. BUT, I have had a love for MAC ever since my much older sister bought me a few MAC products while I was in high school. I recently just spoiled myself with a new MAC Paint Pot and mini Setting Spray thru Ulta online and they sent me a free MAC lipstick also! \(^o^)/Have any favorites of your own that you love?
I just rewatched this video to find out the podcast name and the video was still just as funny the second time, lol. She mentions it in her hilarious Ghost Story/GRWM video. Here's the link she included in the description: The Spooked Podcast - https://spookedpodcast.org That sounds awesome, I will have to check that out! Pure creepy is always interesting, but the touching stories sound like such a treat! That's an awesome thing to put out there, love that energy. :) I also listen to this podcast that my sibling got me into, it's called Welcome to Nightvale, not sure if you've heard of it. It's more like unnerving town radio in a strange place rather than ghost stories or anything, but I get really sucked into it and I adore the guy's voice. Just thought I would mention it too cause it seems like it would appeal to a wide spooky demographic, haha. <3
I have so many faves! I'm mainly an "Eye" makeup lover, although after lusting after some MAC lippies, I did finally purchase some Ruby Woo. And like was ridiculous about it, buying every size/product type in the color Ruby Woo. I love lipstick, but it's so uncommon to see people wear it out that I almost feel uncomfortable wearing any o.O' Mainly just Lypsyl as it's incredibly hard to find a nude that's my lips but better. I have a not common skin tone I guess, as most nudes are for beach babies as opposed to pale Irish girls lol. (Jeffree Star's liquid lipstick in Deceased is beautiful tho!) I can't wear foundation or anything of the sort as I'm allergic to most everything like that Blackup has a really fantastic super black matte liquid eyeliner (claims waterproof, not entirely convinced) But hands down best application, pigmented, matte-GORGEOUS. Nude Stix Lash Lengthening mascara is my never leave the house without. Coastal Scents, if you have not heard about this site, DEF check it out. Very nice, high quality eye shadow pots for under $3 (Idk if they still do, but black Friday they usually have a yearly sale and knock those puppies down to half price - 1.50 for a freaking awesome shadow pot and they are like half dollar size). One of my fave combos for a Halo Shadow is: -Chamois Nude for blend above crease. -Deep Grape for inner/outer corners/crease. -Cherry Moss (AND OMG I LOVE THIS ONE!!) in middle of lid(solo) and blended into Deep Grape at corners. I LOVE duochrome, and Cherry Moss is my all time fave. Inglot has some really lovely duochromes. Also, Urban Decay's naked line. Love their palettes (more collection though, Naked 3 is beautiful on, Heat/Honey are the only ones I don't have, but will when I have extra money for something I will never use, lol. Ultraviolet will be me next, I didn't want to include that one in "I will never use" because that puppy is getting USED!) Their anti-aging eye shadow primer is my fave (although I am an old lady, every little bit helps!). Also Perversion mascara another staple in my routine. They had these amazing lip glosses that have since been discontinued in their Naked line. They were phenomenal, lovely colors but the formulation was probably the best thing I've put on my lips since Lypsyl chappy stix. I still have a couple laying around, wishing I bought up more before they discontinued. (Upon looking, I found one on Amazon for almost $50, they were great, just not $50 great lol) Tarte Busy Gal brows, quick and easy-peasy. Nyx Jumbo Eye pencil in Milk/Black Bean as base depending on finished look.
I used to spend like 2 hours before work doing my eyes. All sortsa crazy ways, really having fun with it and taking chances that I always kinda shied away from. I thoroughly love playing in it, but alas, I too am lazy and haven't played in it for years. I mean I have it there about 3 feet from where I sit now, but doing it is the fun part. Removing is so tedious lol. So the removing keeps me from playing in it. I should though, makeup is so much more than just makeup. I work from home now, snagged a job at Art.com before the weirdness and lockdowns. And as I'm not being seen by customers I pretty much look a mess every day, lol. Best job ever! :) But have little reason to get dolled up, as date nights consist of Subeta or video games now. Can't wait for the world to start turning again so we can go places and do things lol. I miss things!
And I have rambled! Sorry for the novel, I could talk makeup like for always lol. <3
I love your makeup knowledge and passion, how awesome!! I will absolutely look into your recommendations. :) I also have a pale Scotch/Irish complexion (red hair, freckles - the whole bit, lol) so I have pretty pinky lips, imo, and I use a nude shade called Modesty from MAC. When I wanna have more fun I use a shade called Spice it Up! I agree, I rarely see anyone wearing any, even before masks, so I didn't feel 100% comfortable either - even if I kneeew it looked good with everything pulled together. Some girls just rock painted lips, like Bailey, and I wish I could do that more confidently! ;^; Eye makeup is the most fun and creative part for sure, plus they have soooo many gorgeous colors out there~ All the palettes that get released are so beautiful, they do beg to be collected! <3
I worked at Macy's 2013-2016 and I always wore makeup for my shifts. It made me feel more confident walking up to strangers and having to start talking to them, cause that was so daunting for me! But taking it off day after day had me putting on less and less over time. Then when I switched jobs to a sign company, I didn't feel the same pressure as before because the people come to ME now, if that makes sense, lol. :p I wish Bailey was doing her thing back then so that I could rock her looks on the job and sing her praises to all the makeup counter folks! I agree that I miss things! A thing every once in a while was kinda nice, lol. Happy Morostide!! ❤️❤️❤️
