I saw the really gorgeous [item2=carved coral octopus sculpture] and despaired. There's no way to put the HAs right hand forward so I can imagine my HA having hands in front of it as balance standing vertically in the water as the current goes by. The left hand takes a chunk out of the overlay, so my HA can't be swimming arms-back squid propulsion style.
We have single shear gloves for the HAs left hand. If anyone wants a thumb/hand hole on their HA's left side so that that arm looks like it is forward, they can make one. There should be a set of gloves for the other hand.
I support this as well. There are so many times I have CWs with arms not in the default and miss out on gorgeous bottom layer items because of the arm holes.

Hmm, how about we make it so that the limbs are layers we can move around in the wardrobe? I don't use a human base so there's no glove for me. Q_Q
you are using a zombie base or a zapped base? Do the thumb/hand holes match for these?
Zombie base. It uses the same HA cut out.
is pointing out that if you make every bottom wearable from here on out to not have the hand/thumb cutout, you end up creating as many problems, if not more, than you are trying to solve.
(item 3 is also an issue for 's proposed solution of putting the limbs on their own layer).
My proposed solution would be transformable bottoms - but that's a lot of extra work.

my immediate reaction was different sleeve lengths gloves, but that also opens up another can of worms.
I guess my idea isn't very good.
thing is, its definitely a problem with a bunch of new items that move the HAs arms. Some kind of solution needs to happen and there does need to be discussion about it.
One solution was talking about "fillers" but those have a bunch of issues too! You're never going to match all the possible bottom colors, or even sizes - if the pants are hugging the body, or slightly puffed out, etc. Nor does a filler really work for anything bigger than a bit of thumb because color mismatching and misfitting are going to work better with a tiny item.
Thing is, I don't see any easy or simple solution that doesn't involve a lot of extra work. Maybe someone smarter than me can think of something?
Having these kinds of suggestion threads may spark a unique solution.

Maybe a sew on patch item that covers the area would work?
That way you don't have to worry about matching colours exactly and they could be pretty much any design.
Subeta pets, stars, skulls, paw prints.
It wouldn't work for things like the fish tails, but maybe having relevant floating items positioned there would? Bits of seaweed, bubbles?
That's an interesting idea. We already have these (if only they were just a bit higher):
And you could mix and match with other patch items :).
