Should I save up for a Storm Potion or should I buy the Uncharted Map?

Hello, all.
So I'm saving up for the following pets.
The first one requires a for Kinetoscope.
Kinetoscope is based off my wife (their fursona is an otter) and the Storm color is perfect for them.
The second one requires that I complete the Uncharted Map and buy a to fix Oceanea.
Oceanea is a pet I adopted and then immediately threw into the void. She turned into a Rift species, and then I zapped her - into this.
I already bought CSC so that I could place a banner ad for my workshop on the forums, so getting the elixir I need isn't a problem. I feel like because her 'profile' is broken, I should make saving up for the solution to the problem a higher priority - but at the same time, I feel like her broken color is kind of interesting to people in the meanwhile. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else yet.

I actually had the same question regarding Hydrus pets. As far as I know, you do NOT need to complete the uncharted map (there's still a few things you can do on the island regardless, up to you). I think all you need to do is find Merana on the map (idk when the last time she came around, last post in the group was earlier this month). Here's what I got as the answer on a different post I made:
