I just started and even after each time I raise my prices, I'm still told they're very underpriced. I want to value my work, I know how much I want to charge, but I want to get frequent enough commissions. Where is the sweet spot for my digital paintings? Right now I have them listed (but currently not open) for $45 | 500m sP | 5000 CSC

I think maybe $30 is the lowest that you should go for those since they're so detailed.
And no offense, but you might not be getting commissions because your art examples seem to work best for tribute pets. That is, people would only seek out digital paintings of animals if they wish to memorialize a real life pet.
Can you do art of Subeta pet species/mystical creatures? I've seen lots of pet spotlight winners with overlays that are based on mystical creatures instead of real-life pets, which may mean that the userbase prefers art of fictional creatures rather than real ones. If you list art of mystical creatures among examples in your art shop, more Subeta users might hire you for a commission.
Again, not trying to offend. Just stating what I've noticed around the site.

I think you're misunderstanding. I am getting commissions, I just want to know the sweet spot between the right price and a decent flow of inquiries. I do occasionally do more mythical type art, but it's not really my jam.
No offense taken! :)
Ah. okay.
I'm not sure what the sweet spot is price-wise. I've heard that the art market here may be slower compared to other sites. Since it's slower, that can impact how frequent your commissions are.

Pictures are broken. Can you reupload?
Thank you for letting me know! Are these working? I might have to link to my dA if not

Nope, still broken ):
Oh wow, I thought they were photos for a sec :o
$30 is a bit low still, I think. I'd go with a $50 to $70 range, maybe even up to the $100 mark depending on the person. Give or take, mind you. I've seen detailed pics like those going for a median of $75 a pop.
I do think your artwork is great. For now I would keep it at your current prices and see what the interest in your art is. Unfortunately there is a balance between what your art is worth and how much people are actually willing to pay for it. I'm not sure if you're advertising on other websites (i.e. Twitter) but I would recommend doing that too, you may even be able to have higher prices there..
The art market on Subeta is smaller than it was in the past.. so I just don't know how many buyers you'll find.
Thank you guys! I think I will keep the prices where they are now until I get more interest :)
Whoa :o I know nothing about art pricing but I legit thought those were photos. You’re really talented!
bit late in the game, but don't go any lower than $50. Any lower and you're selling yourself very very very short. That is fantastic art!

desperately seeking [item=Skeletal Cuppa Sweater] [item=Comfy Skeleton Floof]
Those are absolutely insane!!! You definitely should neeever go under your current price and honestly could easily go higher!!!!
Oh good lord with the quality of those pictures, you should be charging in the hundreds
Personally, I think you are really undercharging but I understand the struggle of trying to find a price point that works for you and your audience. One way to price yourself is to give yourself an hourly rate. How long does it take you to complete one of your pet portraits?
An example would be if you priced yourself at 12 dollars per hour and it takes you 6 hours to finish a portrait, that should be a minimum of 72. That to me would be a fair price. If you are consistently filling the slots you have open for commissions, there is a demand which will allow you to raise your prices to the point where maybe you don't sell out every time you are open for slots. I'd ballpark your work within the 75 -150 category for the level of detail, depth, and technical execution. If you want to charge extra for a certain theme, I suggest making based on percentage.
I'm sure that you can sit down and evaluate how much you want to make, do not let anyone tell you what you're worth. Just understand that for freelance artists, it's supply and demand and constant advertising if you are looking to make more sales. Don't burn yourself out and you have a wonderful style!
your art is very beautiful. How long does it take you to finish? if your spending hours into days of working on one piece I would shoot between 75 dollars to 100..maybe 150 depending how large and complex. As artists we tend to think of ourselves as the clients and what we would pay vs what our art is truly worth. we want to be kind and fair yet we undercharge. then you have average person thinks art is great valued by price, not by skill and time it takes to craft the final piece. Lot of that is due to their ignorance..but if you already established a customer base then they would be willing to pay that amount for that quality. dont undersell yourself..if customers can have amazon prime to deliver a 100 dollar order than they definitely afford your art.
you may have to do trial and error but your art is absolutely worth the price...actually I would like to request to hire you when you set your new prices for a commish for my dog, sophie. she's a mix of pug and beagle.. she is getting older and I would like to have a picture that reminds me of her goofy and cheerful disposition.
PS. Do you have any social media for your art? I would love to follow you :)
