So Keith confirmed that, instead of just removing the sp cap, he wants users to vault their sp in the forum groups as a workaround to get sarah quest access. (he commented it in the news post about the questathon)
except... how do you do that, and can you even do it by yourself? i don't have any long-term friends that play anymore and don't really wanna gamble with a random person my entire savings from the past 12 years, so...

Wait, when was this stated? I've been out of the loop....
I'd honestly file a ticket and let staff know about your situation.

Hi c: I just made a personal forum group haha, it was a weird process and feels like cheating but, if it's okay I guess shrugs Under dropdown Interact > Forums > Forum Groups you go to New Group. Then pick a name, enter a description, pick a unique ping tag, select "Closed to All" for Joining Permissions, and "Group Members" or "Group Admin" for Who Can Ping. I haven't moved my sP yet though so I have no further info about that bit!
I heard about it, and was thinking of suggesting it myself.
But perhaps ask staff just in case? Don't want you to get in trouble . :)

Just saw your above question! We got these two news comments from staff:
oh weird, last i heard about this, it was considered against the rules... though i'm not sure if it's something they could actually keep track of users doing?
Actually that's a good question, wonder if we can get them to make a post about it so people can see so it's not buried in the comments section? Sorry if the pings are annoying but it'd be nice if this was clarified in a place people could see it easily and don't have to dig through hundreds of comments that they may have issues loading. Took me forever to find them in the post as the comments section specifically would not load.
Glad to see this thread but I do hope a staff member comments! I've been overly cautious about workarounds since sometimes they're allowed and sometimes they're not and there's little to no consistent communication about it. I didn't want to chance it yesterday.
Hopefully we'll get a definite answer today so people who didn't use the workaround don't lose out on the leaderboard because they were cautious.
It was stated by staff in the news post that this workaround was allowed.... Although apparently it was officially ok last time, but some staff didn't get the memo and banned people anyway..............
So, yeah, it would be nice for an official post somewhere for all to see!
people have been using the forum group workaround for a long time without comment from staff, but during the last quest-a-thon, a staff member stated that it was allowed, then rescinded their statement, explaining that they assumed it was okay without asking senior staff. then clarified that using this workaround was considered cheating. i see that this is no longer the case as mentioned in the news post comments, but it should probably be made clear in some sort of official forum post, since until i saw this thread i assumed it was still against the rules.
