I've been pretty distracted lately with moving and a few other RL things, so when I went to rename a pet and found out that I could, I just chalked it up to me not paying attention to when I last renamed them.

12 pets later, and double checking that it is, in fact, only August 15th, and now I'm thinking something is wrong.

Either the rule changed when I wasn't looking (can gold accounts now rename the same pet more than once a month?), or the reset is not working like it's supposed to.

There are two pets I was not able to rename. One was adopted by me six days ago, and the other one week and three days ago. So their renames are more recent. I believe (unless I'm going crazy, which it still kinda feels like I am) that all the other pets that I was able to rename tonight were renamed on August 1st, as soon as the month turned over. I have also confirmed that I cannot change the names of the pets whose names I just changed again.

From what I understand, the once per month applies to the same pet. GAs can rename multiple pets in a month, but that name is stuck with the pet for a whole month. I changed the names of two pets the day this came out.

I'm not sure if I'm reading your post right, but if they were all different pets, it's probably not a glitch, but I might have interpreted what they said about the limit and we're both going crazy.

The 12 mentioned in my first post, I believe, were already renamed this month. Hence the worried and confused post. :)

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I'm certain their names were changed this month. The change just happened at the end of July, and I blanked out all my pets' names with numbers and letters, which wasn't a very sustainable system. So at the start of August, I changed everyone's names to "Story YYDD" with YY being the last two digits of the year they were born and DD being the day they were born. (They're all October babies.)

So if I changed everyone's (with a few exceptions) name to "Story YYDD" on August 1st, then anyone with that name should not have been able to be changed again until September. But for the following pets, I was able to change their names again:

Hmm, I'm not sure then. As far as I heard, nothing has changed since they introduced the non-GA way of once per week.

I'm also pretty sure that at least some of those names were changed this month. When you adopted Conduct (currently renamed Code) to me on July 30th, the pet was named 19, which was part of your prior naming "system"...

I do suspect that it might have something to do with your recent UN change. That maybe when they coded the bit making name-changes account specific and not pet specific, they used the username instead of the user ID. If that's the case, then it is something that needs to be fixed.

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this! I'm finding keeping track difficult myself and I have to depend heavily on the system to keep track for me. (I don't know how many times I've gone to change the same few pets names because I really want to change them and I keep forgetting that I already changed them this month.)

Thanks ! It looks like I can no longer rename the ones I initially renamed on August 1st.

But I can still rename [pet not found] even though I just renamed her on 8/14 I believe.

I think she's the only weird one still.

That is weird. I don't think the pet would have come with a free name change, because their name was just Sapphira without any numbers after it like in the old system. I also don't know how I would have a name change credit, or how it would only apply to that pet. Very, very weird.
