But there are so many items and I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I was wondering if any folks that have been around longer could explain how they organize their galleries, what they include/don't include, etc.
Thank you so much for your time, I appreciate it. (:
It's easy for me:
"Do I like how this item looks / The description?" if the answer is yes, I put it in; https://subeta.net/user_shops.php/shop/28599
My gallery is just items I like.
https://subeta.net/user_shops.php/shop/39182
I still have over 3300 items in there, though
I usually just throw in what I like, be it real life things (like coffee, books, plushies, cat things, etc) or just in general items I really like either their art amuses me, it's pretty or I just really find it amusing and want to keep a copy around. c:
I'm starting to worry too because so many of the items I like are cash shop too. D:
- I forgot that pet treasures are a thing! I might try and offload some stuff onto them. Also, a mineral collection is adorable. ;-; This is making me rethink what I focus on... which is good!
I totally realize I'm overthinking, I have OCD and being in quarantine is kinda making it express itself in odd ways hahaha.
The longer you're here accumulating stuff, the more you'll need to find places to put it all...pet TCs are really awesome for that. Good way to deal with those things you like but don't quite fit elsewhere. But then you start collecting pets too...it never ends lol. Happy collecting!
I mainly choose food items and zombie items! I also sometimes use it for storage purposes.
The Item Directory and SubetaLodge are really useful, if you aren't already familiar with them. 😊
I actually don't use my galleries as such. I have a cheap shop, an expensive shop, a gallery for hoarding ingredients for Fantine's Bakery, and a gallery to keep my inventory tidy. My collections are in my pet treasure chests. My favorite is the jam-themed collection in Pollina's treasure chest. A china cabinet is a really cute theme!

I've gotten lazy with organizing mine but!!! I used to be good about it haha
I have two main galleries: my pantry (all the food items I either love irl, love the art for, or love the description for) and my home . The home one is semi-organized by categories like the yard, living room, kitchen, and I sort items by where I'd have them irl. ^^
forever collecting:
to put in my food gallery!
- I LOVE your pantry idea. So many of the foods are so pretty it makes me feel kinda bad feeding them to my pets, haha.
- Thank you so much for the links! I had no idea there were so many items, it's good to be able to search more specifically. And I like the idea of pet treasures as different collections, I may consider that once they get more spaces!
I have balloons in my gallery! This includes any item with a balloon in the item art, like a balloon on the cover of a book. I have them organized by type, more or less. There's a link in my signature :)
But like a lot of other people here, I use my pet TCs as galleries of things I like too. Smiley has smiley face items, Togemon has cacti, etc.
Glad to help! There are a ton of items on Subeta and most users enjoy collecting here in one form or another.

These are items that I like the look or description of, or items that follow a specific theme. You can see the different categories, I have one for all the common pet plushies, and one for all the common pet elixirs as well as potions and other transformation-related items.
I used to have a vast funny item description gallery but gave up on it. Still regret it. The remnants are here.
I also collect cute, pastel-ish stuff here. Especially . Almost at 500 but not quite.
Cute minions are here.
And stuff I would like to own in real life here.
.. yeah I have a gallery creating and maintenance issue, okay. I know. :'D
I have a two in one gallery. My toys and my garden.
Pretty simple for the toy gallery, just collect everything that can be played with. I've considered adding toys which can't be played with, like the nostalgic items needed to make nostalgic pets - but I decided to toss those items into a pet TC instead.
For the garden, anything plant or greenery related. Trees, fruit, flowers, vegetables, pumpkins, spades, vases, grasses, seeds, etc. For the fruit and vegetables I try to keep it to whole items, unprocessed, so I would include a strawberry, but not a cream covered strawberry. Or vanilla beans, but not a bottle of vanilla. LOL though I did include the "pirate" fruit:
My next gallery is going to be glass. Anything with glass - eyewear, bottles, drinks, elixirs, telescopes, mirrors, and so forth. The hard part with this one is trying to figure out if something is glass or plastic.

- I didn't even know you could categorize your galleries before I checked out your garden collection, so thank you for that!
I am doing something similar to the glass gallery with my "China Cabinet" theme, but kinda focusing on things that look antique so I avoid most of the glass/plastic problems.
You can have up to 20 categories.

I have a bird and bird-themed gallery that I am very proud of (it even includes over 20 CWs, some quite rare). I also have a misc Holiday gallery, which is really just a place where I throw any prize or gift I get from special Subeta events. I also have a berry-themed and a butterfly/moth-themed gallery, but I haven't really been working on those to the degree I've been working on my bird gallery.
