I joined a couple of weeks ago, and still have not quite got the battling system down. Since I was also looking to adopt another pet, I thought maybe I would try to adopt one that was also good in battle.

Hey there! There's a whole forum dedicated to battling, the folks over in the Battle Chat 2020! thread are super helpful and there are a bunch of guides for getting started.

A pet that is "good in battle" takes a lot of time, dedication, and sP to build up. Although I wish you luck in trying to adopt one ready-made I do think you might have a hard time finding one. There are lots of ways around the site to increase your pets' stats though, so while you search for a battle pet that someone else has already worked on I would recommend starting to build up your current pets if you're looking to enter the world of battling. Watching your pets grow stronger and progress through the opponents is most of the fun anyway!

You never know what you're going to find in the adoption center too, so definitely check that occasionally as well. Good luck!
