Putting aside the fact that there's probably plenty of people who don't give a flying rat shit, I just received the same notification about 5-6 times on different pages for the SAME pet.

Why isn't there an option for this, anyway? What's so important about a pet spotlight that every user must be told? It's on the front page, what more do you want?!

Are you talking about the banner across the top of the page that happens whenever there's a new news post?

I can understand why it would be annoying to see it all the time, especially since it always shows up at midnight Subeta time when the new pet spotlight is announced. However, I find it a convenient reminder to check the bathhouse every time I have to dismiss the announcement.

I'm not sure how they would make an opt-out thing though without having it opt you out from all news posts. Which most people I think wouldn't like, because it's handy for knowing what's going on and what recent changes have been instituted.

I'm not sure this is a Problem/Bug, unless you're finding you have to dismiss the announcement 5-6 times to get it to actually disappear. Maybe Site Feedback?

Also, if you want I can help you find the custom css to make sure they don't show up. I will need one to show up first, though, so I know what the coding is, but if you really don't like them I'm fairly certain we can make them go away. :)

The pet spotlight is part of the news. That is why it shows where it shows. It will not go away until you either click to remove or go to the news. I imagine if you remove that news piece, you'd remove all news notifications.

, yeah CSS would be nice. I understand it's the news, but so were the gaiaonline announcements and those annoyed the hell out of me too.

.new-news-announcement-banner {display:none;} it removes all news alerts but using it means no token shop news or other time-sensitive things.
