Since 12 AM (rollover) passed from Sunday and it is now Monday, I went to rename my next pet, but I'm still encountering an error saying I've already done so this week. Am I misinterpreting this news post? What am I missing here?

I recommend submitting a ticket. This is a very new system and its possible that stuff they said, stuff they planned, and how stuff actually ending up getting implemented were all different.
Could also be a bug.

did you rename your pet in the last seven days?

I will do that soon, unless a staff member sees this thread first and looks into it that way. If it's just an issue with my account or everyone, or I'm misunderstanding it I don't know.
Yes, but the news post and 's clarification in the comments of it lead me to believe that it didn't matter when in the week you changed it as it's a global reset when it ticks over to monday.
I admit I am struggling to comprehend it and have had to re-read it probably a dozen times, and ultimately decided to ask here if I'm misunderstanding it or if anyone else has this issue.

It should allow you to do it again on Monday, provided that you haven't done it since the tick over at 12am Sunday to Monday Subeta time. Which I emphasize because if you're like me, Monday at 12am Subeta time is still 9pm on Sunday my time, and it's very easy to get confused which day is which.
But you're not reading it wrong, and assuming you didn't make that mistake, it sounds like the coding is not behaving like it should, so I'd recommend filing a ticket or posting in the Problems/Bugs forum. I'm not sure which would get you help faster, but if you post to the forum others who are having the same issue can chime in. :)

Thanks for letting me know. :) I'm on the same time as subeta! If possible I'd like to have this thread moved to P&B but I have no idea who to ping as the mod of the help forum seems to be offline for about 10 months now.
Yeah I saw that now too! I also renamed a pet on the 28th and it reset today for me. So I'm in the same boat as you and don't know the answers to those questions either haha

I think we could ask to move it since she is one of the mini-mods for the P&B forum. She may also just suggest you make a new thread; not sure. :)
To answer your question, it normally has to be the originating forum's minimod as they can only move stuff in their forum. But as I am the weird minimod/staff member I can move from any forum.

Well, the rollover from Sunday to Monday is definitely what I intended, but now I can see that the code I wrote was off by a day. It turns out that "midnight last Monday" in fact means the midnight that Monday ends on, and not the midnight that Monday starts on.
Fix deployed! Come this Sunday, it should roll over on midnight as I intended. Let's leave this bug report open until then so we can confirm.
