Namine

My pet Namine is named after a preexisting character, but her name normally ends with "é". I tweaked the CSS a tad and managed to create the needed mark over her profile name without having to make a banner or alternative displayed name for her, but I haven't been sure whether this may fall under the rules of falsifying pet information by doing this to her name. Pets aren't supposed to have "special character" names anymore, but if they're still around I could understand an issue with "misrepresenting" the pet's name by including one; but since the names have been getting 'phased out', then I'd think the assumption would be made that system-wise, her name isn't anything special and that this is purely a decorative profile piece.

I haven't been sure whether or not to ask or just file a ticket, since I'm reluctant to feel like I'm wasting staff time with these sorts of things.. It's a "minor" profile thing until I get around to developing her profile further, but I'm not sure if it flies as-is. Any ideas?

(feel free to ask for clarification if this came out too rambly, I'm running on very little sleep while writing this out, haha.)

I'd say it's misrepresenting details because her name is not Naminé. You can't own a pet with that name, and you can't link to it via the pet sCode.

You're really best off filling a ticket for a 100% reliable answer though. (pls post here with the staff reply 🙏 )

Non-unique names are a new thing and not enough information is available yet for a user to accurately tell you "yeah this is/isn't allowed". So don't worry about wasting staff's time! c: These things do matter for people who want to get fancy with profiles, and the sooner it's clarified, the less annoying it'll be in the long run. Imagine having to tweak 40 pet profiles, eesh...

Couldn't say for sure whether or not this tweak would be acceptable, but this topic may interest you: // Use letters in pet names, which are not part of the english alphabet (ä, ü, ö, ß, é, etc.)

Your pet&;s name must be exactly as it appears on the pet, so you will not be able to have the accent marks on your pet&;s name for the profile. You can display it in the story or description with the accent mark, or have an explanation there, but the pet name has to be represented accurately.

Here's our update, so that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Thank you so much for the conclusion. ^_^ at least in the story it can have the accent. <3
