It would be cool if we could search for a new pet using a birthday, or even just a birth month if that's easier. I'd just like this option to see if there are already pets created and waiting in the ac so I can adopt instead of making new pets :)

Just yesterday, I was trying to figure out what id ranges were correlated with October birthdays (since I'm partial to those myself), and I found this really difficult because of all the purged IDs.

And I mean, sure, you can click on each pet to find out their birthday. But it would be nice if you could do a search for birthday month and narrow it down a little easier. Especially now that the pound has become fuller than it has been in ages, and it's no longer a simple matter of checking a few pets.

Yes please! Also, add me a sink in the cleansing pool where the pet forgets their birthday and you can pick a new one!! I made my son a tribute pet when he took an interest, but it sure would be cool to give it his birthday ^_^

As the person who runs the Looking For Birthdays thread and checks the adoption center and ufa pet threads pretty regularly something like this would be a life saver.

Even if they just change it to pages instead of refreshed. It is so hard to go through all the pets to check for birthdays when it is a random set out of the near (or over) a hundred pets that are in there now. I was thinking of making a suggestion thread about making the adoption center paged instead anyway, but a search would work too.

Oh! But I was thinking about, since name swapping is no longer a thing, like pet swapping? Like swapping only the pet species/color with another; so the species/color would change but not the stats. This might be a super unique problem I have though. Because I have an Angelic Warador I no longer want (due to the new naming change), but the pet itself was my first pet and I would love to keep it. BUT I would rather let the Angelic Warador go to someone who wants one since Angelic Potions are so expensive rather than just changing it to something new.

These are good ideas, but I want to make my own suggestion: Is it possible to make a search option based on gender? Basically, we see all the male pets at once.

Once a really long time ago there was a board regarding the prospect of either changing a pets Born Date or creating the option of a Birth Date (it's been a hot minute so I can't recall which it was anymore) and honestly that's kinda been on my mind now that we have such open creativity here; being able to assign a birth date to a pet would be appealing for a multitude of reasons!

People with tribute pets, selfie pets, fandom pets, OCs, etc could easily make their pets fit the script! I know there's a certain thrill with finding a pet that has the born on a specific day (trust me, I'm that person) (people three states over could hear me screaming when I managed to get both my dogs actual birthdays/years) but equally there's certain combos that just don't exist; even if the site existed pets used to be purged so a particular date may no longer exist in the preferred year, not to mention dates before a time sub was a thing. I'ma weirdo and if able I'd totally make a selfie pet born in 86 (shh I'm old, get off my lawn).

Anyways assuming this kinda thing was doable, and was something we could hide (for those not interested), I think it'd be a fantastic idea! I think I'd more support the addition of a Birth Date, as the born date is when the pet was officially created and the adoption date is when a pet was... I mean, adopted. I do like knowing these things, but I would also love more free-flowing creativity options!

Really not a fan of somehow changing the pet's birthday. Now that unique names are no longer a thing, being able to swap out a pet's birthday would just be taking away one more thing that makes each pet unique and desirable.

I do support creativity, and I do understand why people would want this. But I don't think y'all have thought through the ramifications.

Addressing the "off-topic" conversation: The creation date is related to the ID, the actual be-all end-all unchangeable core of a pet. It's part of the site's tracking system. It - and the adoption date - was added to pet profiles way back in 2009 by popular request. (That ancient news article if you are interested) The fact that those dates are a part of what makes that pet that pet - a visible "manifestation" of the underlying code, if you will - is why they can be hidden but not changed...

However, I've never completely agreed with "Born"... Pets are created not born... Changing it to "Created" would be great... And maybe then there could be a little more leeway in how a character's birthday is presented on their Subeta representative's profile. IDK.
