I recently started an art shop after being away from the site for 8 years. I guess I'm a bit out of touch with the market here so I wanted to check that I'm not shooting myself in the foot with my pricing. Things are a bit slower than I expected and wanted to see if I could get some help. My pricing is based off of the expected time it would take per piece and am not sure if I would be able to handle much lower prices if commissions are taking me hours to complete. I'm sure as I get back into the flow of things, my process and timing would improve but maybe the quality and the money of the art is not aligned? Let me know, thank you~

ah, thank you for the input! I'd guess it's reassuring to know I'm not price gouging the customer... I just can't compete with some of these other wonderful artists offering pieces for $5 a pop :'(

I agree that the prices are low. For some tips on selling on subeta, I have commented some relevant tips here alongside other users. Notably, your shop started around the same time as the CW pawn shop reopening, so people probably cleaned out their funds.

I'm also gifting some billboards your way in case you want to advertise your shop :)

Yeah, I wanted to use some commissions here to bring in extra cash on the side. I used to be super active a long time ago and I remember the community so fondly. I'm not sure if this is the right place to discuss/ask but are there other more niche art communities that I could participate in (outside of twitter, instagram, tumblr, da)?
