Improvements Hello everyone! We're making some big moves behind the scenes today. One of the privileges of having a 15+ year old codebase is the joy of code that actually starts to break over time because the PHP rules change. We make decisions on a constant basis on what is worth fixing and what isn't, and in this case a lot of these things were "alerts" years ago (meaning they just said hey this is bad practice but didn't break the site) and over time have become errors. We've not prioritized it because we could keep running with all of these errors happening in the background (they are non-breaking) but... it's come time to pay this debt down! So, we've been adding all of the errors into a new bug tracking software we're using (so that we can see how often an error occurs, what users have been hit by it, etc, all very cool stuff!) and resolving them. was able to knock out a huge portion of them programmatically, and is now tackling a lot of the single issue ones.
This is going to result in a faster and just better Subeta, because we can actually track errors. If we turn on error tracking now, it's just hundreds of these ones we've ignored over the years.
This is all to say: We pushed out changes to a large number of files, and are now making other improvements around the site, so if you see something break please report it, but that is likely the issue!
Discord We're trying this out again! this is the URL to join our discord server, that is separated by channel to report bugs and issues, and have general conversations.
We're excited to try this out as a way to work through issues in real time (and ping when resolved) to have faster feedback loops, especially on issues like in the wardrobe.

I downloaded Discord but it was too much for my OLD computer which kept freezing up so had to uninstall it.

I think Discord is a nice additional way for users to communicate with staff and to each other, but I agree that it’s not a great way for staff to communicate with users just because it’s something extra outside of Subeta.

Someone is using an emoji on Discord right now that triggers my epilepsy. Experiment tried. Research shows Emoji are not suppressable via Discord but needs some third party app? I will not be doing this. Experiment failed.
I got 'Invite Invalid' when I followed the Discord link.
Something wrong with the Tiles game. It won't let me place any tiles in to the 1st space. I have filled the other 2 but when I click to place any tile to the first space nothing happens. Edit: gave up and ended the game, will see what happens next time I can play.

I found a bug and made a thread but was pointed here, seems related to a few other bugs that have just popped up around the site.
I tried to join Discord but it wouldn't run on my computer so I'm just gonna...put it right here...
Asmodeus Genetech Lab broken
I just tried to make a couple recipes there and when I click the "Combine" button, the page just refreshes and nothing happens (other than the checkboxes clearing). I tried several times to make two different recipes that I know work since I've made them many times before (and I verified them on SubetaLodge). Definitely had the correct items checked. Items are still in my inventory; no new item was made.

Thank you for the update. I successfully created my Discord account so I can see if issues in I'm having in Subeta have been reported yet. I appreciate this different channel outside Subeta to monitor what is going (or not going) on in Subeta.

- the emoji aren't suppressible but the animation can be turned off in preferences.
Go to "Text & Images" options and turn off "play animated emoji" or go to the Appearance tab and turn on (enable) "Reduced motion"

good idea for the discord, handy to have another form of offsite communication. i just hope it doesn't create double the work for you guys to keep an eye on bug forums here as well, i'm sure staff can be quite busy at the best of times, so i hope it might just make some things a little easier crosses fingers
