So I got to change my username from momo_the_peachy to Quirk. But on the left side, on the sidebar, it still says I'm logged in as momo_the_peachy. Does it take time for the change to work?

Yes, it usually takes a bit to change because it has to change separately on all the parts of the site. (congrats on the name change!)
