I adopted Pinecone from the pound the other day and I really feel like they should be a priggle. I'm not overly fond of priggles, though I don't know why. These are the ones that I think would be the cutest/look the most pinecone-y.
Except I really don't like the thing at the end of its tail.
Except I don't want Pinecone to look angry and like they're ready for a fight.
Seems...ironic. That's not the right word.
The scales? on this priggle look the most like a pine cone, but I'm just not feeling the overall look.
I'm hoping someone(s) will help me make up my mind and persuade me more toward one of these versions. If you have an opinion, strong or otherwise, please speak up!
Also, if you have a suggestion that is not one of these, I'm open to those as well. :)
Thanks!
Does it need to be a pinecone, or can it be any conifer? Would you choose non-official art and make an overlay for one of these? Maybe put two googly eyes on some uncopyrighted pinecone drawing?
Priggles do have that weird pompon on the end of their tail, this could be replaced by several random bunches of pine needles.
I don't know much about conifers, because I've lived in a desert most of my life. Most of my knowledge about pine cones is surrounded by nostalgia from when I was a kid.
I am open to doing some kind of overlay, but I usually need to feel at least somewhat inspired before I do one. I like the idea of having pine needles as a tail, but I'm having a hard time picturing what that would look like.
I guess the point I am making is a weird one. There are lots of different looking cones and once you remove "pine" from the image search and include "conifer" you get lots of shapes some of which (each different) are like the three priggles you are not sure about. If you do end up commissioning one of the artists here to do an overlay, it'll help if they have some idea of where your nostalgia is from.
I like the Harvest Priggle the best of the ones you posted! I think the Harvest color suits the name too.
other species possibilities: -Squirrels and chipmunks eat the seeds from pinecones, how about a popoko or maybe a torrey? -Some small birds such as crossbills eat the seeds from pinecones, maybe a lain?
You could make arguments for antlephore, anyu, celinox, fester, jollin, kanis, kumos, noktoa, pherret, terracoon, urubu and wyllop as well, at least some of their colours represent animals that typically live in the kind of climate that has coniferous woods.
What about the Chibi Priggle? That one strikes me as pinecone-ish.
