Haven't been on here for years, are any of the vending machines potentially profitable anymore? Or is it better to just horde wizard tokens for the token shop/sell them?

While I can't say for sure, I think the only one that was worthwhile a little while back was the Ocean Depths, since it gives you clothes and the chance for a legendary.

As for the avatar, if you are still using the old wardrobe make sure that your base layer is not above your eyes/nose/mouth/hair etc. Otherwise it might just be a glitch with the new wardrobe.
