It's a small thing, but why can't we delete old gifts like comments or inbox messages?

I know they're archived all nice and neat in the Gift Center, but I wouldn't mind being able to go through my history and choose which ones I would like to keep.

I don't feel strongly about this, but I wouldn't mind having the ability to delete my sent gifts.

You can turn off receiving gifts. And I'm pretty sure the same for comments (or there used to be an option.)

Dude, I've been wanting this for so long. I don't bring it up anymore because the times I did it wasn't that pretty. I don't mind getting random gifts but after a few years the random "junk" item with no message and sent anon doesn't mean anything to me. I'm pretty sure they were a Drills quest forced gift.

For received; Considering that I have years old gift image messages that are broken and were sent anon, I no longer have sentimental value for them as I have no clue what they meant. If I took screenshots I've since lost them in the few dead computers. Plus, I have a few sent by now frozen users. I may not want to see them on my gift list now for personal reasons.

For sent; Drills makes us send a gift. So I do. A "junk" item to inactive/frozen accounts because I don't feel like "bothering" someone with random items nor do I want to take the time out of questing to find a wl item for a random user. The chances of these accounts being active again are slim to none. So any legit gifts I send get lost in that list of forced gift giving for Drills.

Giving us the option to clear out what we want doesn't mean you have to, I don't understand how it would be a problem for anyone.

I'd like to keep a good portion of mine to look back on, but there's no use in a bunch of gifts collecting dust in the corner of my account. In some cases, they were exchanged with someone I used to be super close to; I just don't want the reminders anymore.

It's nice to look back on memories, but at the same time, having all of these past gifts recorded probably doesn't help the site's servers, and deleting some of them could help the site run better?

You said you've brought this up before, what do you think the chances are? Have there been any comments from the staff about it?

Making it optional would be good too.

Probably better now than it was years ago. I checked my old posts and I made a topic on it back in 2014. Server strain wasn't really thought to be a big issue back then.

I never did get any response from staff and I don't think I did on the couple of other times either.

I really can't see any downside to this. You're not asking them to be auto-deleted, simply giving us the option to remove old data we feel is no longer relevant.

Yes staff from various departments do browse through these threads. Not all boards get a public response though. As things get implimented they get locked or if they get denied which is usually when staff post a reasoning.
