When you edit your shop there is a field marked "Text/Description" that allows you to enter text using sCode which is supposed to appear at the top of your shop under the shop name.
These descriptions are not showing up in my shops. This is particularly an issue for my CW resale shop, which had a link to my wishlist in it if people wanted to trade, and a list of currency conversions I was willing to accept.
But all of my shops had funny flavour text and disclaimers to the effect that while I typically do not sell gifts that people have given me, if I acquire more than one of an item that isn't consumable like books or food, I will probably sell the extras. (That's not as important now as it is right after Lumi or my birthday, but my birthday is coming up soon.)

Do you have shop descriptions disabled? You can check at the link below. https://subeta.net/preferences.php?act=prefs

I don't see an option to disable that.
I have custom shop layouts disabled, but I thought that just kept people from putting fancy CSS on their usershops that makes them hard to read. (I don't want to call anyone out but I have one friend whose usershop uses the same colours, fonts and font size on her shop that she has her profile coded to use, and it's obnoxious.)

The option "Show layouts in user shops and galleries" needs to be enabled in order to see anything that is written in the description box, whether it's CSS or just plain text. If that option is not enabled, you won't be able to see description text.
I don't know if it would be possible for them to make it so that option only blocks CSS in user shops, unless they did two separate input boxes in shops and galleries for plain text descriptions and CSS layouts.
Laurey is correct. You have to have that enabled to see anything.

Thanks, but...crap.
I just want to be able to see text, I don't want to see white font on pink backgrounds in 9 point type, you know?

Yeah, I know it is annoying, but unfortunately that's just how the setting works right now.
Maybe this would be something good to add to the improvements suggestion thread? (if it's not there already)
Ohh I just thought my CSS was broken. Good to know it’s not the fault of my amateur coding. I definitely turned off that setting after someone’s shop lagged my computer out with their.. interesting graphic design choices, lol. Knowing that my shop’s description won’t show for others with this setting off, I might change my shop name to “Comment For Trading” or something of that nature.
