The current cw submission process is somewhat rigid and stodgy, lot’s of things can be improved by a more flexible queue system, for example this:
It should be allowed if the item is obviously not in the right category, i.e a pair of shoes submitted as small decoration, allow the admin/ staff who is responsible for the submission to have the power to change it for the user, and charge/ return the CSC amount if said categories have different submission prices. Staff can give out a ‘item submission fee request’ similar to how slot pay requests work.
This can fasten the obviously long CW queue we have, reducing the amount of times items got rejected by miscellaneous reasons which does not require the edit of art works, and I believe this won’t require much coding. Besides item category, misspelling can also be dealt with in the same way.
And, if said staff is unsure of whether or not to change it by themselves, a ticket can be sent by the staff, to ask for the users permission.
The problem that this Suggestion is solving is a long queue.
I tentatively support this? It's not user's-time that is backlogged and limited as far as the long queue is concerned, it's staff-time. It's not hard to re-submit an item and to the degree that was a (small, IMO) hassle was motivation for me to check everything over all over again and catch any other little fiddly errors when I did my CW. Perhaps other CW submitters are less motivated...Saving staff time and doing it ourselves if we can see it, this would help with the queue, yes?
So if it was coded in such a way to make it easier and smoother and easier for them I can see it, but if staff has to repeatedly ask the user's permission, then no. The language of CWs would need to be changed to an 'at your own risk' phrasing, and the user should put CSC in escrow so that the most expensive item could be created and then if it's cheaper the difference gets refunded. I dunno if regular CW submitters would like that.
Support, but only if the item is in the same pricing category. Otherwise, I think it would be easier on staff to deny and ask for resubmission.
I agree with Tartelette. If the price category changes it needs to still be denied so the user can make sure they have the right amount of csc to resubmit it, but overall no support.
I disagree with it speeding the queue though, if staff have to fix all the possible errors in CW names and descriptions it’ll take MORE time.
While it may be more convenient for users it’ll take whoever does the queue longer when they have to make these changes, and honestly it’s not too hard for us as users to check we’re in the right category and have proper spelling.
It shouldn’t be staffs job to do ours as a submitter for us. Maybe you get a lot of denials for spelling/category reasons but they’re pretty rare from what I’ve seen and I don’t think it’s fair to put more work on staffs shoulders just because some may not wanna use spell check or make sure they’re using proper grammar and categories.
