ACCIDENTALLY POSTED THIS TO THE WRONG THREAD. I feel it's still appropriate for here, but let me know if it should be moved to Discussions. Thanks!
I'd love to hear feedback from some more experienced artists; Any critique about the look or placement of the item or its shadow are welcome! I'm not so attached that I'd mind redoing any of these. I especially know that ears are usually separated, so I'm wondering if I should do the same with mine?

welcome to the cw world! i find your art gorgeous and your designs thus far captivating - but i do notice some flaws here and there.
your shading actually strikes me as pretty on point. it makes sense and causes the items to pop, though especially those black ears and the way the lighting hits them. your major issue here is your lineart itself: it's very fine, very thin, and would probably catch a denial if submitted as is! my suggestion would be focusing on thickening these lines to match the general style of subetas, though admittedly as time goes on they seem to be approving thinner and thinner linearts gradually.
i hope this helps, and i'm excited to see what you come up with!!
i'll also ping a few fairly prominent cw artists to see if they have any input - hello babes! new cw artist looking for some pointers. check out their cool stuff ;v;
yes, I will be moving this to discussions.
Thanks for your praise and feedback! Honestly, I hadn't considered the thickness of the lines at all, as I tried basing it off of existing CW's.
I was referencing the shading complexity of this item: . The lineart is quite thin, but I may have taken it a step further (whoops) with very fine brush. The sentient injection lineart is barely noticeable. Will definitely fix.

these look so cool. one thing to note though, shading needs to match up with the ha's. so the light source should be top left corner ish. also there is... something called 'sticker effect' that staff like to reject items for, and that happens when the inner lineart is too thin or light. shRUGs.
as far as placement and layering, i mean I guess there's no set placement guide due to all the variations items have. but it's good to check your items on premade/dressed HAs to see how they work and layer.
but yeah! wow man! your stuffs crazy good. do you use discord? if so do you wanna join our cw server? we've got a bunch of good artists who may be able to answer any questions you may have 'v'
: Hi I admire your art <3 Would you perhaps consider a collaboration ;__; No pressure though. Just thought I'd ask. Also I'd recommend joining akita's server!
hello! your art is super beautiful! the style for cws is a bit specific tho so my main pointer would be, as said by others: thicker lines! your overlays have very very thin lines and they're not even in the normal size yet! consider that anything you draw on the base needs to look good Halved in size! i recommend drawing with a secondary window showing the true size. A lot of detail gets lost in the resizing too, so you must keep in mind the final product ♥ if you want any more help feel free to poke! i recommend joining the custom collective server on discord if you have it too, a lot of artists there to give feedback -u- https://discord.gg/aUybB7t
Damn, I had no conception of a universal light source, so that's Very good to know. As for the "sticker" look, you're referring to a thick outline and unnoticeable interior lines right? I hope my samples don't look that way :x
Discord, yeah absolutely! I'd love to join you guys. I think Emyon gave me the invite link in their post. (Side note, I'm a big fan of your own odds and ends CWs :'D Thanks for your input)
aaa thanks ;_; I'm flattered and love collaborations. Right now though, I'm inching towards my finals for graduation and probably won't have the time to dedicate to it. Permission to reach out to you later down the line though?
Since people are saying lineart is too thin I'll definitely raise the brush thickness! It's really a trial and error thing.
I've joined the server. Look forward to chatting with you guys~
