I've randomly had gold accounts over the years when I have little bit of extra money, but through all this time, I've never been able to figure out if I could change the head-shot position. My main pet is a chibi ghostly and if I try and make him my main leash, there's just a white circle with a small black line. I know that's partially my pet, but I was wondering if I'm just missing the function. I'm guessing maybe the custom pet overlay might fix it but I don't know if I want to use that for this. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

[-Dive] The pet headshot editor isn't actually connected to the leash feature. You'd just click the dropdown arrow next to the pet whose headshot you want to change on the Pets page and click Edit Headshot :)
