I had been waiting patiently for Merana to appear on the map for a while with no joy. So I decided to go into faqs and click on her link. The link for her quests says she's around although she's not appearing on the map? I completed her quest, so success for me but others might be waiting.

Has all of the text and stuff allowing you to complete one of her quests to turn your pet hydrus, even though she isn't on the map.
Thinking about it now, I'm not sure if I've actually seen her on the map in a while, but I don't really keep track of it too much so I may have just not noticed.
Oof... So, there was a glitch that Merana would still be accessible via her link even if she wasn't "active"- this has now been fixed.
However it also seems like Merana hasn't been "active" in a while, and I believe this is related to the reset issues we've been dealing with. I'm looking into this as soon as I can (and if it ends up taking longer to fix, I'll manually have Merana show up some time, so you guys aren't waiting too long for her)

Not yet. This is still on my radar and I still do understand its importance. Unfortunately, in April we had to delay a lot of more involved bugfixes due to more pressing issues that demanded priority (described in Community Letter: April 2020)

Marene has been transformed into a hydrus pet!
